Argus, Demon Hunters, Draenei/Eredar, and the Shadowlands

Recent interviews suggest Argus has no impact on the Shadowlands because he’s part of the Nether, and that demons return to the Nether when they die.

We’ve also been told that it’s our connection to Azeroth’s world soul that will allow us to straddle the mortal realm and the Shadowlands.

Does this mean that Draenei being born of Argus who is part of the Nether, and Demon Hunters who have gained “immortal demon souls” should NOT by lore be able to participate in this venture into the Shadowlands, being in the first case not BORN of Azeroth’s world soul, and in the second case having an altered soul that now belongs to the Nether?

Discuss.

In both cases, the player spent the entire last expansion wearing Azeroth’s (metaphorical) heart around their neck. That’s what they’re talking about.

If merely being born on Azeroth granted death-transcending superpowers then why does anyone die there?

They did not really say Argus was of the Nether, they were more saying Argus was used as the power source for a revival engine that centralized demon regeneration and sped it up exponentially. A vital thing to do if you want an infinite army.

Titans are more of the Great Dark itself. Under normal circumstances if a Titan were to die it probibly would have its soul reincarnated into a new planet and spend a few million years recovering in its world soul form.

Draenei are mortals as any other race, and would go to the Shadowlands when upon death.

The PC is the Champion of Azeroth and is bonded to Azeroth’s essence. She is as such able to provide you assistance even in other realms through this bond. If the Champion happens to be a Draenei they enjoy the same boon as any other race.

It does, however, mean normally demon hunters would be chucked into the Twisting Nether until they found a new body to possess, yes. But this is sort of an exceptional circumstance as the Eternal Veil is broken and unable to properly fulfill its function as the Shadowland’s firewall. I’d not be surprised if we saw incursions from other forces normally kept out, too.

No… because if they weren’t connected before, they were connected by the Heart of Azeroth. Even with that gone away, the connection remains.

He, or It?

Are we talking the world soul or the WORLD.

Argus the WORLD is part of the Legion and thus, affected by the Nether. Demons are from the Nether, and would go back there no matter where they go. The Draenei (and I’m just guessing, but also the Broken) should still be affected by the Shadowlands.

Argus the WORLD SOUL (and the original “source” of the Draenei) should be part of and affected by the Shadowlands.

We still have the Heart with what’s supposed to be its full power, but it’s dampened by the Shadowlands. That’s the explanation for disabling it like artifacts.
