Argent Tournament and Faction Change

All,

Thank you in advance if any body can point me to the right answer.

I am interested in changing factions, but general guidance says all progress on Argent Tournament (incomplete or Complete) is reset when you do. To be clear, all the dailies are locked again and I start from scratch? Or do the dailies at least stay? If I buy my tabard before I transfer (the one with the teleport), will I be able to use it? And lastly, I would need to re-grind all city faction reputation again?

Hard to say, most people have forgotten about that reputation(finished it ages ago) and have no clue about it. Best to keep that char alliance and make a new horde alt leveling it.

High chance your losing everything, so be prepared.

I could be wrong but from memory I think you will lose all progress since the quests are considered separate faction specific content even though its basically the exact same content. But it doesn’t take more than a few days of dailies to unlock all the main dailies again. As for the teleport tabard, i’m not sure if that will transfer over. I suspect it will but again, I could be wrong.

All that being said, I was always under the impression that the mount rewards transfer over? So if you got them all on horde side, you automatically get them all on alliance side as well? However the pets and mogs will not auto-unlock.

once you unlock the argent dailies/dk dailies, you never lose those after faction changes. i have crusader completed so not sure if you have to restart the 3 days of aspirant dailies/re-unlock the sunreaver/silver covenant dailies

what i do know 100% is that sunreaver and silver covenant rep are separated and do not transfer after a faction change. if your alliance main gets exalted with silver covenant, then factions horde, your sunreaver will be neutral. but if you swap back alliance you get back your exalted silver covenant. so buy those factions rewards if you have high rep before swapping over and having to restart those

the mounts/tabard do carry over in your collection between factions though

As someone who’s done this faction change process:

  • Main faction of the tourney (Sunreavers/Silver Covenant) is reset to neutral
  • Argent/Crusader dailies once unlocked stay unlocked after faction change
  • You have to start from zero with the Sunreavers/Silver Covenant quests. So the aspirant unlock for 5 days I think, then each city one by one.
  • Rewards from city/main tournament factions are shared. If you buy the Stormwind mounts you unlock orgrimmar ones and vice versa. Same with main factions. So if you’re close to a reward. Farm for it and buy it before changing.
  • Tabard is a neutral item. It’ll still work I’m pretty sure as AC daily quest unlocks persist. Your Argent Crusade rep is not impacted.

Fastest way to get Silver Covenant or Sunreavers rep to exalted is running Wrath heroic dungeons without a rep tabard on. Doing time walking dungeons next wrath event also gives good rep.

everything resets and you have to do it again. I learned the hard way ( i had 4 done and only needed one more to get crusader title but I failed to do any research because I thought it just carried over, cuz why wouldnt it? Oh well, not doing it again.
