Pretty much anything else with a low drop rate can be farmed over a year’s time. hardcore every week or more casually.
Drops like these from an event that last 2 weeks “forces” you to hit it as hard as you can every day. In my case that is 18 characters with the queue times out there.
I have read about people who have 300-400 kills between last year and this and still don’t have it.
I would like to have the time to do the new anniversary content, timewalking and weeklies on alts, leveling them, etc.
If i don’t keep at it, it will be next year to wait for, just like having to wait from last year.

I’ve learned two things in the past:
“If I’m going in for the intent of a mount or pet, only additionals and sweet treats drop.”
“If I’m going in for additionals and sweet treats, the mount or pet will drop.”
Go in for something you want, you won’t get it. Gotta go in blind.

Low droprate RNG for holidays is bad design. At least they learned that with the anniversary event.
Also: does anyone know if Arfus falls under the “once per day per account” thing? The blue post on it only mentions the mount.

Sadly, there are those who have gotten a second pet to drop with many are looking for the first. others with the mount have reported 'weird" loot pumpkins that can’t be opened all the way and probably have the mount in it they can’t see or loot.

I got Arfus the first year it came out. Was happy but harly summon him lol.

They made a change this year where level 10 and above can get the epic loot bag from the HHM.

I finally for the headless Horseman mount Tuesday after trying to get that thing for what 17 years now?
The only thing that has eluded me longer at this point is Rivendare’s Charger

In the past the horseman himself dropped the mount. With the introduction of loot pumpkins, does he still have a chance to drop it or is it only from the pumpkin?
I also remember rumors that the mount dropped from the pumpkin during the stop the fires quest. Never confirmed them though.

Got the Horseman’s reins this afternoon after 17 years.
It looks dated and old… I’ll use it for a bit, but it sucks.
7 years ago it would have been cool. Or to have had it for 7 years up until now.
But I kinda just smiled, shrugged and moved on. Too long a wait to be excited.

There’s people that have been running since the thing launched for HH and stil don’t have the mount.The mount now only drops from loot filled bags.
Anniv events last til January so you have zero worry there.

I understand they mentioned wanting to run the anniversary stuff. Your post, to me, made it seem as if they had all of the anniversary event to get Arfus and the HH mount. So that’s why I asked a question.
