Arenas Are Fun and Enjoyable Content

I had two vacations for saying means thing in threads with the #1 ret recently :frowning:

I actually think FDK is the harder spec to play to a win condition, at least post Legion. You have less tools then UHDK and if you mess up a chill streak your damage is poopsauce. That being said you did get more runic power for death strikes, which kept you alive longer then UHDK until this season nerfed it a bit.

No man if you want to find out how many players there are you look at the amonut of spots each region has for rank 1 titles, since it’s top .1% on each faction you just do that math for both factions and add them together to get the entire player pool.

The total rank one counts was not 3 times more on EU than NA. They have more players, but not even close to 3 times the players just based on your observation man.

Last season for example EU had a total of 153 rank 1 spots. NA had about 110-120 (looking for my exact post I had on the spec distributions from last season). EU doesn’t even have 1.5 times the players of NA lol.

It’s fairly consistent that EU gets around 140-150 r1s this xpac and NA is a little bit lower but still always at least 100 or so rank 1 spots at the worst possible case. Never in history has EU had 3 times the players.

I haven’t fought a dampen dh/rdruid game in so long now lol. Dampener games in 2s arent really the norm, I know that’s a hard concept for you to grasp.

Rmd is forever harder than rmpalla, not sure if you are aware of this, ret can punish hpalla a lot if they make mistakes, because we do big dam to them. Rmd can also kite you much better.

I think I qued into you playing tsg, being the only tsg I’ve lost to. Very good

I’ll put it in simplistic terms, as explaining the entire process is something that I don’t have time to do atm. Maybe later.

Basically, the more people participating, the more people that can achieve a high rating, as well as the higher the rating cap goes. You have to have people below you, to rise up. If there was only ever 2 teams ever, for example, the maximum rating team A would get for beating team B would be very low, something like, we’ll just say, 1,700, suggesting they both started at 1,500.

Team A would go up 200 points, to 1,700 and Team B would go down 200 points, to 1,300, and eventually they would reach a point where they could no longer gain or lose points by competing against each other.

How is this fixed? By adding in Team C. Team C would fight Team A and lose, and Team A would climb another 100 points up to 1,800, and Team C would drop down to 1,400. Already they would hit their 400 point difference gap and no longer gain or lose points from competing. However, then team C would fight Team B, win, and gain 200 points, for example and go back up to 1,600, and then again could fight Team A and lose points there, but give Team A the option to gain points.

That’s ELO in its simplest translation.

Basically, apply that to hundreds, or thousands of teams and have them all compete and be able to push each other up, to new heights, as you can only gain points by fighting opponents that can give you points.

Ultimately, what this translates to: More players competing = more people who can get a certain rating, number wise, the less value that is put into each exact rating number (for example 2,700 is easier on EU, due to it being a much lower ranking, top 800, as opposed to NA’s top 300), as the new cap and “R1” spot moves up.

With few enough people the absolute highest rating possible could be 2,700. And with a lot of people, the highest rating possible can be 3,300. That’s why at the beginning of seasons nobody can ever get 3k quickly. Because there just wasn’t enough teams competing over the season to make it possible, at the time.

Understand? If you need me to explain it in further detail, or at the very least link you a video explaining ELO, I can do that later. Just let me know.

ok that’s nice and all but we’re disputing that even if u were the “highest rated ret NA” u weren’t really that good to begin with and it’s moreso from the absence of competition, not that the elo system is “harder” to gain rating on on NA because there’s less overall players lol

Maybe you’re just unhappy that I succeeded. ):

I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end, it doesn’t even matter

to you, I guess

But I was the R1 Ret. I shouldn’t be proud of my accomplishment?

i don’t want to get banned

So I should feel like I didn’t accomplish something that I went out and earned. Even though every other Ret that played on NA ranked below me, I should feel they are better than me… Because… Why? Because they gave up pushing?

Also, I don’t even talk about my accomplishment all that much. You guys just keep bringing it up, over, and over, and I defend myself. And the cycle repeats in like every thread. At this point it’s basically harassment, lol.

It’s an accomplishment and you have every right to be proud of it. You just need to admit to yourself it was largely because of the gear available that season and realize it was a major contributing factor to having success that season.

It’s something you can’t seem to admit to yourself despite everyone else being aware of it :man_shrugging:

the fact that u are calling urself a r1 ret so consistently and i have to defend the meaning of r1 is BASICALLY harassment, lol

u r chock full of goofiness

I agree. Thank you.

I’ve been saying this for years.

I wonder what else you convince yourself of IRL. Literally imagining scenarios that best fit your narrative and you start believing them as reality.

Jawah my friend, you are truly lost in the sauce.

feel like y’all are really forcing your narrative on this guy, why do y’all care so much.

People say the game is bad and rating doesn’t matter but in the same breath will call out someones rating if its low or w/l isn’t amazing or w/e.

Guy had a good season gear or not and also gets to bait and troll half the arena forums.

Seems like he’s winning still
