? so you bring up what guardians did? so does that mean you’re going to do that?
Why bring them up if you’re original?
Nope. I’m running mostly verse. Better believe I wanna try it out though. Also wanna try an innefeable build. So basically tons of customization which templates does not give.
More than you obviously
ok so you’re running verse got it.
Yeah cause I wasn’t one of the lucky few who had stockpiled echos to buy everything and anything. Also gushing hasn’t come up yet. Just wait for it.
Irregardless, the point is people like options, and to your earlier point, people actually use different options. Templates don’t achieve this.
Irregardless
So you want to test out what you would like to play. You want to spend time farming in order to achieve this. I’ve stated before some people don’t have crazy amount of time to farm gear, in this case echos. I like both gearing and templates. I liked templates because i could log on and arena and nothing else.
But there were systems where you could do that without destroying customization. Literally any expansion before legion.
I hated some parts of it at the time. I want trinkets to matter for one but I also don’t want to raid and do M+ just to do what I actually want to do.
I say they should just add back resilience and PvP power.
This is why Legion was the worst PvP expansion. Nothing you did mattered. With that said I can’t wait for Mastery amps since Versa is overrated.
This is what we have now and it’s awful. I can’t pvp because my gear isn’t high enough to play the part of the game I want to play. What you’re saying is, I have to play the other parts of the game just so I can PvP.
The problem is, this is like telling the PvE Crowd:
You cannot raid or run mythic plus until you have acquired 1800 rating in 2s, 1700 in 3s, and won 15 RBGs. After that you can start doing M+ but you’re still going to get all your best loot from arenas. Better start grinding.
Again I said the gearing process now isn’t fun like it used to be in old expansions. Where you did PvP and go to a vendor and also at times raid for some powerful item. So we need to work on improving the fun of the gearing process again to what it used to be when we had great PvP in TBC/Wrath
If you have bad gear you should get stomped and that should motivate you to get better gear. That is what this game is about gearing up then building skill around that gear.
Templates are fine. Legion just did them wrong.
We’re talking about templates, for the arena. So the arena tournament has, in the respect of this topic, everything to do with the game.
The problem is with zoomers feeling entitled to everything while putting in zero effort. They don’t want to pve (even though this game has ALWAYS been predominantly pve).
If you don’t want to pve that’s fine, but DON’T expect the bis build/stats. The whole point of an MMORPG is to build your character, that means doing things that you sometimes feel are TEDIOUS. That’s okay; if you don’t like it, DON’T PLAY AN RPG. Not everybody has fun at work, you still go for the money. This principle is what RPGs are all about.
More seasons than not you had to pve to be bis in pvp. In the past they didn’t complain or cry, they understood that you had to do ALL the content to be the BEST. Templates are better than the current system, but NOT a practical solution. You SHOULD have to progress through both high end pvp AND pve to perform at the highest level.
If you don’t have the BiS build then you have a higher chance to not get invited again because you want to do your own thing. This is like Playing enhance all xpac. No one wants enahnce. The question is," do you have an Ele spec". Same thing with warlock. Play affliction or demo and people still ask do you have a destro spec…
Damn kids today. They don’t want to have to commit enormous amounts of time doing things they don’t like to play the part of the game they do.
Mop-> legion we did not have to pve to pvp.
The average wow player has a job like you said that takes time. Being a top raider takes time. Being a top pvper takes time.
Most ordinary humans don’t have time to do all three.
Taking the time to be the best at pvp should provide you the gear to do that the same way being the best in a raid gives you the tools to raid.
So you don’t want Arena participation. Got it. If you implement Templates for only Arena fine many players just won’t do Arena. Not that there is much of a reason to do Arena now since the gear rewards suck and rating is meaningless. However Templates will only further dwindle that number.
Templates aren’t the answer and never will be for this game. PvP was the best in TBC/Wrath just go back to what worked and stop trying to recreate the wheel. PvP will never be better than what we had in the past old expansion.
This is pretty accurate! We play this game for shiny gear then to own up other players with that gear. Gotta put in the work first and gear up since that is the core function of the game and why we love RPGs.
The thing about template is they said they would use it as a tuning nob but never did. And you had useless random amount of stat.
Like ret being the squishiest spec in the game and had the lowest amount of vers. And mage being tanky af and had more vers somehow.
Yea they were definitely messed up but with that said not having enchants, gems or trinkets matter so you couldn’t fix your messed up stats made it the worst system ever implemented into this game.
Remember getting PvP trinkets that didn’t work in PvP…I memba…
?
They did tune PvP in Legion. Frequently.
We had arena tournaments where all the healing classes were represented, and it wasn’t a mistake like why aren’t you playing MW or Rdruid.
Most specs were competitive in PvP and you could push rating on them. You could push rating on your alts. You didn’t have to spend a lot of time in PvE to PvP.
I mean i feel like ret was pretty balanced in legion.
Like you had auto bubble on a 2.5 min cd so i think it was balanced that you had less vers. This is coming from someone played a lot of ret in legion. I had fun on it.
