I was stuck at 1300 throughout BC. We’ll see how I fare in Lich.
And I should point out that I only did my 10 a week. My partner didn’t care to do more than that, even if I may have wanted to.
So, partner selection and availability have a lot to do with it too.
Yes, kitty/cupid won EU and it was a rare exception. Between the two region’s top 4 I believe we had 6 teams of ele/hpal/x, one kitty, and one priest/dk/cdew.
The kitty with 10 years of pserver experience won and the other non-hpal/ele team got bullied hard by LSP. A couple team’s success doesn’t change the overall dominance of ele/hpal.
This problem also isn’t just a gladiator problem. Once you start hitting “competitive” ratings where people are actually somewhat invested in arena and know what they’re doing you see the same comps over and over and over again. They’re easier to execute and ridiculously powerful and fighting them is an uphill battle if you aren’t also a meta comp. Its just a flaw of wow arena in general and the tiny playerbase of wotlkc arena just makes it more glaring.

You can literally play w.e you want and its fine lol. Every class has at least 1 spec thats good in arena. This isnt TBC, wotlk pvp is far more open.
Find something that works with you and run it.

I will very much do that. Always learning, always improving, not giving up because it doesnt go my way.
But it makes sense for atiesh players to stay with their pve content in the safety of naxx
Wanting to be on a level playing field after an equal time investment for gear is not a hand out or getting something for free how are you this dumb

Gear is what stops me from doing arena, i feel once valor is dropped in dungeons instead of heroism alot more people will pvp as they will have the resil to actually not die in 2 hits.

I mean, I do have a nice pvp set with like 1k resil and 2k spell power. I enjoy pvp, just not arena. I’m capped on honor and marks for WG but I do enjoy having some decent fights in battle grounds.
That’s because arena is a trash heap.

Hpally, Ret, dk, warrior, ele, resto shaman, destro lock, affliction lock, frost mage, rogue, shadow priest, disc priest, hunter, feral and even prot warrior were all represented in the tournament…
What do you want from Blizzard man? Change every class to do everything like retail? That makes pvp boring as heck imo.
You aren’t gonna be able to get the class diversity of wotlk AND have every single possible comp just as viable as any other comp. That’s a ridiculous expectation.
PvP diversity is high in wotlk in 3v3 and 5v5, which are arenas that matter. 2v2 has always been and always will be a joke dominated by warrior/healer teams. You can’t balance a 2v2 because it is in essence a 1v1 duel with a healer support. You’d have to homogenize everything like retail to have any balance there.

I actually do agree with your assessment here but…
This is where you got lost.
I think it will help increase participation a bit. Not a ton, but it is a good start. Gear being more obtainable means more people will try to obtain it. It could potentially cause a positive feedback loop instead of the current negative feedback loop.
No, but if the top was kinda brought down towards the middle, then the bottom wouldn’t seen so bad would it!
3’s is definitely not balanced and 5’s well… it’s a little more fun but you still have to have certain classes and specs to be competitive.

As much as I want a balanced game I really don’t think they should mess with it. Blizzard has spent 20 years trying to balance the game and they have never succeeded and they never will. Just leave well enough alone. It’s best to not take it very seriously.
