After thinking quite a bit about Arena over the past few months I have thought of some ideas that I think would improve enjoyment of Arena matches especially in players with less past experience in Arena. I am not whining about the current state of Arena before the trolls come in and accuse me of that. Just providing some feedback on what I see might be enjoyable for the PvP playerbase. So here goes…
I think Blizzard/Activision should add in more categories to play in under Ranked PvP than just the 3 currently offered. I am seeing a lot of players ask for 5v5 to be added back in. While there would probably be too much going on for me to enjoy I don’t understand why it shouldn’t be added in as an option.
What I would like to see added in is different way to customize Arena matches. I think there should be brackets for No Healer Specs/Equalized Gear/Other filters along these same lines for fun custom gameplay for those who want to participate in it. These custom brackets should not count towards Cr for gear upgrades of course IMO but you could still assign a cr/mmr rating to them for matchmaking purposes and maybe some other rewards (cosmetic/honor/etc). This would give less experienced players an area to have fun in arena while taking a break from the 2v2/3v3 grind and I’m sure it would still be fun for some more experienced players to play as well.
I am not a programmer by any means but it seems like something like this wouldn’t be terribly hard to add into the game. Perhaps on “custom bracket” with several selectable filters would be the easiest way to add it. Just some food for thought…
