please give us areana, BGS will quickly be useless with the Honour caps and the lack of honour decay.
so please give us Arena, so 2-3-5 people can just have alot of fun together.
we dont even need gear from it, just make titles for flexing

RBGs and the Retail Soloqueue RBGs would be awesome for SOD. I think they are scaled down in players to like 6-8 person BGs with quicker matches. Arena in SOD would probably be trash but I’d still play it for a bit.
Era was never balanced for arena and SoD is faaar away from being arena balanced. You’ll have Fotm meta groups with all B tier and below never climbing which turns to cries for nerfs → nerfs, imbalance again, feedback loop. With a very large balance gap margin cause SoD devs.
They can’t balance right now with no arena. They will never balance it good enough with arena. Devs don’t know about classic enough to do even a decent job.

There are two versions of the game with what you’re asking for. Wrath of the Lich King Classic and Dragonflight.

And the PvP in those versions of the game suck.
TBC is the golden age of PvP and vanilla/SoD is the closest to that.

Lmao tbc the golden age of pvp, you mean the meta where RMP is lightyears ahead of everything? At least wrath had dks and warriors in the mix, TBCs pvp was horribly balanced, Cata and MoP were much more balanced.
IMO solo que arenas could be decent, if you allow teams people will quit fast and cry for balance.

I agree but I would argue it’s actually really good data to try and balance pvp around.
It needs work, but let them cook.

For sure the data would be good, I agree. Might be hard to filter the complaints from hard stuck 1500 players vs higher tier players that can push a class to its fullest though.
Cata Classic goes live May 20th (prepatch Apr. 30th), I’m not sure about the next Retail expansion, but those two versions of WoW have arenas.
AFAICT, SoD is geared towards avoiding PVP by AFKING/throwing or completing PVE objectives to obtain PVE BiS items, and focus on parsing in content where the biggest challenge is trying to get drunk old men to coordinate with each other without getting angry.
The more I play SoD, the more I question the value of try harding beer league and flexing about it.
Would it? Why not just play Retail then? This is a legitimate question. Cata is coming soon also. Why are you playing SoD and not Retail if you actually enjoy rank-based matchmaking in PVP?
SoD is fun for “hanging with the boys” or spending long amounts of time on a flight path because why not, but why are people, with an apparently straight face, legitimately asking for things that currently exist in versions of the game that they aren’t playing?
Arena would be one of the worst things possible to put in this version of the game lol.
Play retail if you want good PvP. SoD is way too unbalanced to warrant PvP development anymore unless they do a complete overhaul which isn’t gonna happen.
Retail PvP is awful lol. Every class is teleporting and zipping around, there’s 60,000 explosions going off, every class can do everything another class can, and CC is so out of control that the main focus is making sure your opponent can’t play the game as much as possible.
It doesn’t help that the devs decided every single ability needs over the top animations at all times. Remember when you press sinister strike and you’d just… strike them? Retail sinister strike gotta spawn an entire jury and a jester that does a 45 minute comedy routine with WWE entrance pyro going off just to do 2% of someone’s hp and generate a single CP.
