Arena Carries and Boosting

Currently, of the total time I spend in arena lfg, about 15% of that is reporting dot com websites selling boosts for presumably cash. Another good portion of that time is picking between high experienced players selling boosts for gold which I assume is still within the ToS.

This needs to stop. My current level if dissatisfaction with arena in WoW has never been higher. This is ridiculous. As players, we shouldn’t carry the burden of constantly reporting cash paid boosting websites and sorting through 2800+ exp player selling boosts. I don’t want to play 2800 players when I’m playing matches between 1500-2000. I’ve played more
tyranical/deadly/etc gladiators in the last few months than probably the last few years combined.

Blizzard, do something about this or players will continue to abandon the arena scene in droves.

It’s been reported plenty of times. Doubtful anything will be done. I still have a few friends I pvp with otherwise I would have unsubbed already.

I’m in the same boat. I have a few friends left that still pvp and if not for them I would be gone. The boosting is really making us think we should leave anyway

They are probably gonna let the proposed system play out for 9.1 to see the status of the ladder, much to our suffering.

Will probably have to wait till 9.2

It’s very frustrating. The normal learning that takes place throughout the season can’t happen. Typically, players start off by gearing up and competing at low CR and MMR ratings. You learn and progress and gain rating throughout the season then hit your ‘wall’. Whether that be your personal CR that makes you feel “Job well done, I hit my personal goal for the season!” or you get bored and turn to other activities. You don’t run into players that create that wall until the appropriate rating.

What I mean by this, if player X is usually able to hit 1800 normally. The players from 1850 and above are limiting that progression. Until that point, the relative difficulty is challenging yet attainable. Player X has an opportunity to learn from his 1850 competitors and has a reasonable chance to climb. This season, that 1600 player on his way to 1800 is regularly facing duelists, gladiators, and top % talent.

That does not create a fun and comfortably challenging experience. I know we can all agree, the best part of arena is learning and growing which typically yields rating and titles. Whether that be challenger or gladiator, it’s the same principle.

This season, you are met with a struggle and minimal progression. The carrot at the end of the stick is unattainable or a path fraught with disappointment and little advancement.

Very disappointed.

Agree. The integrity of the ladder under 2100 is completely ruined.

Shadowlands. The only expansion where most gladiators you fight are between 1400-2000mmr instead of the usual 2400-3000

I don’t have anything to add that other people haven’t already said. Just wanted to stop by and compliment the elite ruthless set. I swear season 10 had sickest sets for 2.2+, gets me instantly nostalgic :slight_smile:
