Arena 123 question

I am trying to start binding abilities to arena 123 to get use to it while leveling. Question for people who do this, if you have for example bind 123 targeting arena 123, shift 123 interrupting arena 123, and alt(or ctrl) 123 ccing arena 123, do you have separate binds for interrupts and ccing outside of arena? Having a different bind for cc/interrupt outside of arena seems a little overwhelming. Thanks.

I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking but I have a regular wind shear bind as well as three additional wind shear binds for arena 1,2,3

Sorry if it sounded like a ramble but thats basically what I was asking about. I was just curious if there was an easier way, as I can see myself getting confused having 4 total binds for 1 ability.

You can use the exists modifier to make your macro work outside of arena.

I.e.
/cast [@arena1,exists][] Spell Name
casts your spell at the arena 1 person, unless there is no arena1 in which case it will cast at your current target. This works for focus and party positions as well.

You really only need kick for 1 2 3 and a roar macro for all teammates. It’s not like paly where they need a ridiculous amount of utility bonds to play at the top level. Old marks used to be pretty ridiculous with it tho. If you have a good mouse, I’d macro targeting to the bottom three buttons, and then do shift 1 2 3 or alt 1 2 3 for those binds

Don’t forget about master’s call for teammates as well.

That is a little easier. I was trying to also squeeze in Concussive shot 123 and Masters call 123

Don’t really need concussive on 1,2,3 can just do a mouseover for that. You’re either concussiving the person you’re targeting anyways or the healer to try to land a trap, which you can just use focus

I think freedom 1,2,3 is a must. And sac. And scatter. And kick. And the blanket silence one if you play that too. For concussive, I think a mouse over exists is just fine.

Haven’t touched scatter tbh. If it’s not cata marks I don’t want to play that garbage.

replace dark sim with anything you want

it only sucks in flag bgs because the efc becomes arena 1
so in those situations i’ll just replace the @1 macro with a regular non macro kick/grip/strang/purge/hex ect then swap it back when i q arena

Let me use actual binds to paint my question a little better:
A-arena1, S-arena2, D-arena3
ShiftA-Counter shot arena 1
ShiftS-Counter shot arena 2
ShiftD-Counter shot arena 3

Outside of arena, shiftA can obviously be counter shot my target. Does that make ShiftS and ShiftD dead hotkeys outside of arena?

Correct they become dead unless you also mod them

I didn’t say anything about concussive on 123. Although I don’t see it being a problem if someone wanted to use it?

If you put the exists modifier on all of them, they will all counter shot your current target if you have no arena 123 (i.e. outside of arena).

I didn’t know about the exists part of targeting. That’s awesome! I’ve had a separate binding just for that.

Yeah but you would effectively have 3 macros that all cs your current target in the open world. Unless you further modify them you’d kill two open world binds (which is what I think he’s asking)

Does anyone key bind one key with modifiers? For example:
F - Counter shot arena1 (or target)
ShiftF - Counter shot arena2
AltF - Counter shot arena3

I think many players do that. Just have to find what’s comfortable to you

I personally like using series of 3s because it’s just the way my mind prefers it

Alt/shift/control 1,2,3 and then 4,5,6 for example (where the 4,5,6 is really just another 1,2,3)
