Area - 52 queue time [blizz track?!]

Hello everyone,

I am not the type of player that has the habit of posting in forums or making constant complaints about the service even because I understand the complexity of managing an MMORPG like World of Warcraft.

Still, I would really like a Blizzard position regarding login times on every server, not only Area-52.

The question is that we do not have any position on this matter, even though the answer is a negative of the type:

“I was born that way, I grew up that way, I am that way, I always go that way”.

Even if we have this answer, at least we will have a real positioning from blizzard.

The login times during the pre-patch release (including high latency), and also during the shadowlands release were not viable for gameplay.

We are talking about players who wait more than 3 hours in line to be able to play, and when they are disconnected, they need to face the line again (It was not my case).

The indignation is great, and until we have a big collection movement against Blizzard, we will always walk with our heads down repeating the same sentence.

“This is in the terms of use.”

In my opinion, World of Warcraft is an excellent game, but currently it is only waiting for a new mmorpg of respect to hit the head and thus sentence his retirement.

Regardless of whether they respond to this publication or not, I hope it will reach someone who can make some kind of impact in order to obtain changes to the players, because the way we are treated today, respect is the minimum we require and yet we do not have this return.

Monday night was a horror scene. No queues, but couldn’t connect, see characters etc. Last night was massive queues. Given the evils to choose from, I will take a 3-hour queue notice over spamming the Play button.

The queue’s stink for about a week or so after expansion launch then settle down. Then the next expansion launches, and we go back to “I have never seen queues like this” forgetting two years ago, we did have queues like this,.

The age of the MMO is over, I think. Every game that stood a chance to knock WoW down failed. SWTOR and LOTRO were two of the closest, and I think Guild Wars kinda gives WoW a run for its money.

I don’t think many companies want to get into the MMO market these days.

i hear ya man i work 10-12h a day and come home to a 3h queue.
but as the post above says it will eventually calm down, one of the
worst i can recall in recent memory was WOD, queues were up to 5h.

“It’s a new expansion and you play on a server literally designated as ‘full.’ What did you expect?”

People have been saying this for 10 years.

yeah but to be fair the company we pay knows this as well and could offer some free transfers few weeks prior to releasing. we cannot continue to defend Blizzard and hold them to zero accountability.

^^ This, they know exactly which servers are Full, they fully understand the backlash they are going to receive come launch time, due to server stability, server crashes, queue times.

they hope for this, because it causes people to be frustrated enough to go and spend more money to server transfer off to a low pop server. income earned for the product, as well as the continued sub per month isnt enough, they just want more, Otherwise, they would have opted for free character migrations off of the full 2-3hr+ queue time servers to any low pop server the customer wants, like they have in the early days, but there hasnt even been an inkling of that notion yet.

its ridiculous, either fork up the added expense to increase server load the first month of expansion launch, or supply full servers the option at free migration prior to and the first week of launch. a happy participating customer base, is going to propel your game further, than anything else will. I dont care how much HDR and ray tracing is in WoW, if im stuck looking at “position in queue: infinite”

The below post disagrees with the non-chalant notion that “it’ll calm down soon”.

I’ve been playing since Wow came out, and I’ve been playing on Area 52 for a number of years now (this will be the 3rd expansion I’ve played there on). At no time in all of those years, expansion release or otherwise have I ever had to wait in queue to get in to play. Not ever.

I do realize it’s a high pop server, btw.

As I type this, my queue to get in is 96min with 1925 ppl ahead of me. Yesterday, queue times were 180min+.

Now, I’m not one of those ppl that posts and whines about things either. I too, understand that this is a monumental undertaking, of which I don’t know crap about how to fix it. So, let’s be clear, I’m not some wanker troll that comes along every 2 years to complain.

For me, I just paid (2 weeks ago) to have a character xfer’d from Suramar (my original realm) to Area52, including a faction change. And here I sit, waiting. . .and typing forum posts and other things because I’m not playin’ the game, again.

What would I like? Free realm transfer for all my toons. This is my main realm, and since I won’t be able to play until at least 6:30pm/ish, any of the toons i play regularly, then yeah, xfer my toons to another server without these problems.

I’m not gonna miss anyone on Area 52. I’m not committed to a guild or anyone on that realm.

To add to this, my wife just created a char (2 weeks ago) on this realm. She’s waiting too.

The last 2 days we have server maintenance, you’d think to deal with what’s in this post below, but it doesn’t seem to have had any effect.

I have a server full of toons on Moonguard, another high pop server. I can log right in, any time, any day.

I have toons on Black Dragonflight, a high pop server. No problems getting in there either.

Area 52 is one of the “small number” of servers in this list.

Fix the problem, or offer us free xfers. Or butter me up with something that’s worth my having to wait hours to play the toons I want to play.

I know we have multiple threads of this topic going, but adding my support to this one too.

Well they are not hoping too hard. I was polite with a GM and he comped me some game time. So If I cant play this week or next at least Im not paying for it.

Honestly after years on Area52 I went into this expax expecting to be locked out for the first two weeks. Its how it always is. Im not condoning this. Its horrid. However some things in life just need to be expected. I the log run id death deal with this than deal with a dead server for the next 2 years. 2 weeks is minimal compared.

Although other MMOs are literally getting players due to this. This first two weeks is bug central anyway
