As Area 52 players know, we had an issue that caused degraded performance on this realm starting at 2:08 p.m. PDT today. We were able to stabilize the realm for the most part, and players have been on the realm as usual all evening, but we need to restart the realm to pick up a fix for the issue.
That realm restart will be at 7:00 a.m. PDT tomorrow (Wednesday, September 25).

They havent given free xfers off of any retail realms in nearly a decade, probably even longer. Like Mark Hammil says, it’s all about the money, they couldn’t care less about the costumer now the way they used to. Back in the day, yea we got free xfers off the realms that were overcrowded.
Do free xfers to shmedium realms. It’s been a while.

No this started weeks ago and my guild has lost over 1/3rd of our weekly raid time due to the realm being offline.
We were able to stabilize the realm for the most part, and players have been on the realm as usual all evening[… ]
This is a straight up lie, unless you count watching the realm offline/character not found screen to be usual (which it has been). We were all booted offline again at around 7:45pm est and had another 15mins of downtime.
When is actual action going to be taken? This is ridiculous. Not fixes, not restarts. Not bandaids. Prevention and real fixes. Realm transfers, dedication of more resources to your largest servers to keep them stable.

what does blizzard consider “all evening” out of curiosity? Because the realm went down entirely in what most people in area 52 would consider the evening.

Typos happen. Unless your goal is to stress them out to the point where they quit like has happened to other blues here and then the blues quit posting on the forums to talk to us for a long while after that. We don’t need to repeat those days.
I just want to know what exactly is wrong with it. This company has proven they delight in making life miserable which is why they nerf toys. So they’re the kind of people who don’t deserve the trust that they would not do this on purpose to rake in transfer bucks.

I don’t demand to know what’s wrong with the ice cream machine at McDonald’s when it breaks because it’s not my problem to solve, it’s theirs. The difference is McDonald’s doesn’t take my money first and then not give me my ice cream.
What I want to know, and frankly what we all should be demanding, is what they are doing to resolve the problem in the future. Not what they are doing to fix it, or what’s wrong with it, but what will stop me from staring at a realm list every Tuesday Wednesday Thursday because it’s down.
I would actually be happy with them telling us honestly, “No we’re not trying to fix it.”
The ghosting is much, much, much worse than that, it just lets them seem better, which is why I hate it.
I actually do want to know what’s wrong with the ice cream machine if it’s always down. I don’t have any particular right to it but if they don’t tell me I will draw whatever conclusion seems reasonable and I’m not obligated to trust that they’re being fair. And if I come to the conclusion that they’re seedy I will go elsewhere. And I did. (I also researched the ice cream machine thing and long story short it’s because of capitalism. It’s a monopoly the company foists on the franchise owners to milk money from them.)

What does this even mean? Are you guys unaware that the server has crashed multiple times in the last 2 weeks? outside of maintenance, And in the evenings. It just crashed and was down for 15 minutes 4-5 hours ago, and did the same thing twice last week.
I was in the middle of time walking illidan, before his door. We were about to talk to Akama and boom servers out, only server to go out.
just offer free xfers off. the server clearly isn’t stable and you need to take responsibility for that.
