Are you still interested in wow lore and chronicles?

I read the first two chronicles cover to cover. I was heavly into wow lore. Everything about it was so interesting and well written.

However, now with the heavy rectonning going on (started in Legion but became too much in later expansions) I seem to have lost my interest in wow lore.

I don’t see myself buying future chronicles and neither I bother about the expansion story.

Anyone else feels like rectonning was a bit too excessive and it made players lose interest in lore instead of making them more interested into it.

Nah.

Was always more into 40k anyway.

Not at all, and never again.

I bought the first two “definitive lore books” and neither is accurate anymore or even taken entirely as cannon with the copout that it’s from the Titan’s perspective, so it may be flawed and incorrect.

What precisely is the point of a definitive lore book that isn’t definitive?

For a certainty, I did not buy the third, nor will I ever purchase another.

I don’t really like the writing anymore tbh.

But this story has so much potential! I’m interested - but I don’t like how the game forces it on you so much (in ways like pathfinder and such).

I also don’t like how the story defines my character. I just want to be a random elf druid - not some general archdruid leader that likes to dance with faries in ardenweald.

Hopefully they’ll lay off the player character a bit and focus on introducing some new heroes and baddies…unless it’s too risky from a business standpoint or something like that

Honestly, once they remove Sylvanas in 9.1, i think I’d lose interest to all the faction leaders. Blizzard is quite scummy to dangle her for 3 expansions tbh.

I was critical of this expansion, but now that I have my bearings I will admit it’s growing on me.

In chronicles there is a graphic that display the 6 cosmic forces in action in the WoW universe: i am interested in that.

When Blizzard released Classic, they were no longer bound to the Orc vs Human stuff: they could go forward with the story. Can’t wait to see the full story of Shadowlands and where it lead us.

I would say ,yes.Yet,I do know when talking to bro on the subject he doesn’t want to talk about it because,“They keep changing the lore and they’ll keep changing,so don’t talk to me about it anymore” It is sad when a story is changed over a period of time to mean nothing or something else totally different. But i’m stubborn and do like stories.

The lore has been trashed and it doesn’t mean much of anything now.

I am interested, just tired. To me the concept of cosmic exploration is cool.

But it is too detach from me, the player. I dont know why should I care about the ligjt breaking bad, or the titan plots and schemes.

Right now i need, someting more close, something more personal, something that isnt universe ending threat, something like help random people on the easter kingdoms, help to rebuild the light hope chappel, after the DKs attacked it (again)

Somthing like helping the stormwind guard safekeeping the elwynn forest from bandids and Necromancers

Something like exploring the barrens and seeign how the few au draenor Flora add fauna that got the portam develops there.

Something like returning to ungoro and seeign what happened after the sword striked

WoW lore was good when it was low-key and relatable. Fighting the Defias in Westfall, taming the Barrens, battling the Warsong in Ashenvale, fighting the Blackrock and Dark Iron in southern Khaz Modan, etc. There were always looming threats but they were never your day-to-day business.

Now we chat up gods and solve the problems of reality on a daily basis. It’s bizarre and boring.

You can tell Blizzard has run out of ideas by their insistence on bolting on new realities and cosmologies and other random junk rather than developing Azeroth.

There’s a reason the cosmic or planar campaign isn’t super popular in RPGs when compared to the standard high-fantasy medieval adventure genre.

It’s kind of detached from whatever you did to get there in the first place, and there’s not really anywhere to go from there when your done.

Even ignoring the current plot and the nightmare of the goth Waifu… it’s really the largest departure from the World of Warcraft (actually literal at this point) than we have ever done before, and it feels bad.

Problem with big bads is the more cosmic immenseness if becomes, the less realistic it seems with our characters being defient. Even if it has magic and things involved.

Reminds me of Mass Effect and the Reapers. Stop them from arriving, sure. Beat them up on battlefield, meh.

The fall of the lich king was when it died mich like the gameplay. Deathwing was dead then they say he was just sleeping since the rts games. When the crammed nzoth and azshara into a single expansion we knew it would be terrible from now on. A complete waste. I did buy volume 1 for 1.99 on Amazon Kindle.

She really needs to go. I feel like she’s running on mood swings for far too long.

I vastly interesting in the cosmological forces as well as magic having key importance in the Laws of Physics within the Warcraft Universe.

When it comes to mere mortal feats or events, I am vastly indifferent towards it, as well any lore I discover about this character; since fate have a history of bending him over since the Second War.

I’ve always been a fan of minor characters and world building. I thought the quest, Cultural Significance - Quest - World of Warcraft (wowhead.com), was really interesting conceptually because it added a bit of flavor to the world. It wasn’t the secret to defeat N’zoth or the climatic battle between the Horde and Alliance at Dazalor. It was just a little tidbit that made the world feel more alive.

When it comes to the Shadowlands, I honestly don’t care if Sylvanas is redeemed and saves the Shadowlands, or if the B-team (Baine and Friends) learn the true meaning of friendship, looking at the walls in Oribos, I was more interested in why and how Alexandros Morgraine got stuck in Maldraxxus or how Kael’thas will develop throughout the story.

The worst crime is how inconsistent the horde had been written in BfA.
