Are you satisfied with War Within so far?

This expac is so Fing buggy it’s not even funny.

I’ve been fairly happy with it. I haven’t felt that much excitement that I did with WoD, Legion, and the beginning of BFA, but I’m happy so far. I’m enjoying Delves and the quests have been interesting. Take this with a grain of salt though as I’ve been playing very casually and I’m still in the Ringing Deeps.

The setting is good and I like the world design. Some of the armor sets I’ve seen look really good too. I’m happy at the moment but I’ll have to see what I think as I play more.

Satisfied, yes. Blown away, no.

There have been a lot of bugs, a lot of abrupt hot fixes without sufficient explanation, and some serious class balance problems.

Honestly, this is Bethesda title levels of bugginess and instability.

Battle pets at launch feel very phoned in, but they typically do more with that in later patches so I’m reserving judgment.

It’s a solid expansion with some issues that beta should have solved. Honestly we say this every expansion launch and at this point I don’t know why they even bother with beta since they have a history and reputation of not listening to the beta test player feedback anyway.

But it’s a solid expansion and I’m enjoying it. I hope later patches make it a really good one.

Edited to add: it’s already a better expansion than shadowlands and already more engaging than dragonflight. SL tier 1 had an excellent opening raid. DF gave us sky riding and revisited the walrus people. Both were big wins.

TWW feels better to me than either of those, despite the various issues we’ve seen since launch. I say all of this as a resto Druid main who is so badly unbalanced with other healers right now that I’m considering a spec switch for the first time since BfA.

TWW is still decent. So yeah.

Nope. Game breaking bugs at every turn, the tuning being bad on both ends of the spectrum, M+ being insanely freaking punishing and overtuned and the raid being comically, almost boringly easy. Old dungeons somehow being overtuned (I seriously do not understand how a pre-existing dungeon can ship into a season horribly overtuned)

Delves haven’t been fun at all, it’s just be a miserable slog every time I step into one. The story also makes no sense again. Professions are completely awful right now, patron orders asking for things I don’t have, and then when they ask for things I have, surprise it’s tens of thousands of gold in mats for a 56 gold tip! Wow! Please god just give me the daily/weeklies back. I don’t like these patron orders. They suck. It was a good idea but in true Blizzard fashion, they SOMEHOW find a way to ruin it. And with professions being so awful, I’m hemorrhaging gold keeping up to date with consumables and such.

The world looks pretty. . . I guess. Warbound gear dropping from raid bosses and duneons is cool but. . . I don’t want to play an alt when the game is in such a miserable, unfun state. Oh and the warbound gear is bugged and dropping lower track than intended.

This season is coming dangerously close to making me permanently hang up the towel with this game, because I seriously cannot fathom what Blizzard is thinking with like, 90% of this expansion. I love this game. I love mmos, I love the collaborative effort of defeating a raidboss or pushing M+, but Blizzard has been consistently screwing things up patch after patch and I don’t have the energy to put up with this anymore. They don’t listen to any feedback from beta or ptr, and it is so painfully obvious.

This about sums up the expansion. I’m going to come back to this post in 6 months to see if anything has changed. People on here necro threads from 2 years ago, so we’re alright.

So far so good. It keeps me busy… bit overwhelmed but I think I am handling it nicely.

Focusing more on Delves… then M+. Looks like I am getting saturated with Delves loots. Transitioning my focus on M+ but I am still with Delves. Would touch Raid when I feel stable with M+.

Delves Tier 8 is fun. But I feel my excitement is getting lesser becoz i have reached its max loots and I cant target loots from them. How would I make Bountiful Delves to drop Belt, Bracers and Boots? I worry about Duplicates in Vault soon. I better climb to higher M+ keys so I wont depent much on Delves.

Mythic+ is fun so far. I know it’s harder but I love harder content. I still need to climb up keys to get the upgrades I need. I worry about the whining of those 2000+ M Rating people. Why are they whining at that high M rating?

On Professions I am doing alright.

I had some learn2play issues with Alchemy but I fixed it and now has a direction. I am comfortable becoz I can mass produce flasks… and I am working on how to improve my Flasks quality. I am flasked 24/7 but I save my best Flasks for contents that would give me upgrades.

My Herba is stable. It’s straightforward easy.

My Fishing is okay. It’s up there near max. Low priority becoz I could fish any Fish I want. Cooking them is not strict anyway.

My Cooking is awesome. I just max’d it. I can now make Feast. I like self learning them… hunting for recipes. I have recipes that require less expensive mats. I am also 24/7 food buffed. But I am not rich enough to feed Raids yet.

Regarding Work Orders, somewhat new to me but it seems I understand it now after I was able to have someone craft me an ilevel 619 weapon. My alchemy upgrades would now all come from Patron Work Orders. It’s progressing even though it’s slow but at least I am not stucked. I think I can max it out. I have the whole season to do it.

On Raids, not concentrating on it that much becoz I find their loots poor. BUt that’s my future content when I ran out of things to do. But I did Storymode Raid. I’ve seen the story before I have beaten LFR and Normal… that’s cool. My issue on them is why grant an awesome reward when the target players for it has no clue on how to use it. Heroic Raid AoTC is my goal but that would be the last. I would start Raid when I stop doing Delves… when Delves cant upgrade me anymore.

I worry much for other players. But for me, I am having a Blast right now.

I agree with most of the things you said actually. I’ve been a classic andy since classic started and went back at the end of DF and for this expansion. I’m not taking the game seriously anymore and only play maybe 10-15 hours a week and if i don’t want to play, i just dont get on. i love that i have a variety of solo play where i can still be relevant in the game.

I mean, maybe if you don’t like the best version yet, it’s not the right place.

No one should. It’s a game. You should be having fun.

Yee wish I wasn’t in the middle of a move, so I could enjoy it more tho.

playing at a top level, getting heroic/ce and mix/maxing as much as possible meant a lot to me during the majority of my time on wow as i used to get enjoyment at being the best i could possibly be. i’ve been playing since i was 13 years old and am in my 30s now and i just don’t care anymore lmao

Satisfied with many of the changes, such as Delves, Rated Blitz and the Weapons of Conquest achievement.

The story is much better than DF, but something just feels off. Like it’s missing something that makes the game more… WoW. Can’t put my finger on it.

Dissatisfied with the level of environmental detail. Legion, BfA and SL had more environmental detail. TWW has even less than DF. Probably because the devs knew they could get away with it because we fly so fast over everything now.

hehe I was in my 30s when this game came out.

Transmogs are fire, delves are fun, and the story isn’t an abject nightmare yet.
Raiding (as usual) sucks, M+ really sucks, the way special operations effectively punish you for diligently completing your world quests also really sucks.
So most of the stuff that isn’t gameplay is fine, and the stuff that is gameplay tends to blow.
Overall, mixed.

Not really. I mean it isn’t as bad as Shadowlands, but it isn’t that great either. So many different currencies for things, and the balancing/difficulty/rewards kinda feels all over the place. It feels bad when your class gets a nerf too, also they said they will do a bunch of class changes in November which is odd. Usually they do it with the pre-patch, not a few months into the expansion.

Nope… Guild bank heist, the “campaign” that I just can’t support, and knowing the ‘turnover’ obsolete gear progression I will put myself through… just can’t drag myself through much more.
The ‘guild bank’ is huge… that means much more than a few missing items… it is a deeper problem reminiscent of real life… banks now say they own YOUR deposits…is this just the same mafia ‘mind’ trip on you? Just my thinking. I am sad, just can’t even drag myself to do any of this new expanse. What a bummer after playing a very long time.

The beta exists mostly just to have top raid guilds come in and test the raids so that the Race to World First goes as well as possible.

That is literally 90% what beta is about at this point.

Same, idk why it just all feels hollow. It used to be really meaningful.

I do my own thing now, don’t really care for chasing the top-end anymore, still having a blast with the game.

As for OP, yes, enjoying TWW very much. Loving it more than DF, at the same point into the expansion.

I just think the theme is more ‘for me’ this time around. Fighting against darkness at every turn.

Didn’t care much for the dragon stories at all.

So far so good imo.

But my view and needs from wow is very basic.

Give me new zones quests a feature hopefully a new class or race and im usually good.

I don’t do the rushing and freaking out “oh must get my 8 done in 6 hours on no I need to gear up d character by such a date for whatever raid “

My night playing for example.

Had my tea next to me after dinner logged in leveled my 77 mage to 78 . Played one delve . Logged out to finish the night reading on the couch.

No stress . No expectations,

So yeah it’s good.

Granted I play more on weekends than that example. Work nights two hours max is pretty much it.
