Are you really going to take away the weapons at the end of remix?

Just checking that you’re really going to follow through with closing out remix without a bronze vendor for the weapons, or bringing them in for retail. There hasn’t been any word and it’s getting concerning.

  • Yes, I think everyone should get everything they want, at least in Remix. That’s certainly been the spirit for literally everything else in the event including previously exclusive mounts and cosmetics.

  • Yes, you can focus in on the barebones important ones with -some- success and this is the best of the bad options.

  • Even for duplicate weapon appearances of existing retail weapons, the nice armor ensembles we got actually don’t do that much good for us, because you’re still going to have to spam farm those dungeons and raids on retail to get the weapon appearances.

  • Collectibles should be limited time or RNG, not both.

This event should have been light hearted, low stress, and feel good, instead the poor handling of weapon appearances has been a source of stress for some. I had a great time revisiting Pandaria and really going back for deep immersion, but I don’t want to spend the next month on this. Thanks

I don’t see this happening and it’s never been talked about as far as I know.

Keep in mind that some do have retail counterparts. There’s a shield I saw last night that drops from Garalon in HoF but also drops from Mogu’shan in Retail. Same one, not a recolor, just a different name.

I know that isn’t the case for all of them and there are like three or four recolors for these weapons, as well. I just wanted to share some info.

They’ve been pretty quiet about this and it is odd, given they’ve handed everything else to us in Remix.

Don’t literally all mogs you pick up come with you? They might even apply now to your live, it’s still retail WoW.

I think it’s a bit disingenuous to say not getting the weapons makes the mogs useless. I hate virtually all MoP weapons, Monster Hunter level goofy garbage.

I don’t think OP said otherwise.

I think they’re saying you’ll have to farm the dungeons anyway on retail if you want to get certain weapon appearances, so buying dungeon ensembles doesn’t help much since you’ll probably collect the armor sets by the time you get the weapons. At least that’s how I interpreted it.

I honestly think Blizzard has no plans for weapon ensembles. The only incentive to gear alts on remix is to do Heroic Raids and Mythic Siege for weapons.

Then I’m confused what the issue is? There are weapons included in bundles. I don’t know to what extent that goes, but you also pick up weapons from content.

There already is one in MoP

I still have quite a few to get, but I think I’ve decided to call it quits for remix. Selling the weapons would be nice, but I’m certainly not counting on it.

What I mentioned is only one of the issues OP has. There are plenty of unique weapon transmogs that don’t drop in retail, and there’s been no word on whether they’ll become easier to get or they’ll be available later on. Right now, it’s all RNG, and this is especiallly bad for weapons that drop on higher Raid diffiiculties, since they require you to gear multiple toons just for a chance to get them.

Okay? I don’t think they plan to do them in Remix.

I’m not aware of any bundles that include weapons, inside remix or outside. There are pvp weapon ensembles but that is not in scope. It would be welcome news to hear that they are purchasable.

There are even actual weapon bundles outside of remix.

I haven’t logged onto Remix in quite some time but bare minimum isn’t there a weapon set for the class ensembles in Remix?

I don’t know how it works with the base UI, but with ElvUI I get a dropdown next to any bundle I “try on” and I can click through individual items, some of which include multiple weapons. I distinctly recall seeing this on one or two bundles at least in Remix.

Ok, yes there are class themed weapons (the ones inspired heavily by legion models) that were introduced in remix and unlocked for purchase after participating in the campaign. Those are currently purchasable for bronze.

There are a small handful of “starter” remix weapons that are purchasable for bronze.

My concern is for the hundreds of other remix-exclusive weapons (some completely new models, some previously unavailable recolors of existing weapons) that are only obtainable as random drops from a variety of sources within remix.

Okay, so as Doness said. Idk, with how lockouts work on Remix and the ease of the content, I feel it’s fine, but I also wouldn’t see any issue adding bundles for them.

Other than just adding more for people to grind for. The bronze cost for everything when added up is ridiculous.

I mean there is one in MoP Remix. Sorry for the confusion.

I mean there are class weapon ensembles, but I don’t think those are comparable since the weapons don’t drop in remix.

Well to tell you the truth, I hadn’t made up my mind.
But I will consider what you are saying.

Not sure what this means.

I’ve been doing daily raids for a couple of weeks, I have bought everything that I can, and I still have, like, 700K bronze. (I overestimated how much I needed.)

Now I’m running around to complete campaign achieves, and doing some rep dailies.

My worst curse right now is I seem to be unable to let those glowing balls in the sky just sit there. I’m constantly just hopping on my mount to run around and clean them up, interrupting my questing to grab the shinies. I just find that fun, even though at this point, there’s no actual value to it anymore.

Though it is a good excuse to do a quick zone scan for rares.

You can start RIGHT NOW, and get enough currency to level and get everything before the event ends, in probably less than 2hrs a day if thats what you want.

Most of the other stuff is achieves or zone drops. Go forth and quest, kills rares, kill local mobs for the zone drops. If you do the quests, you’ll get most of them. They’re not that rare, its just RNG.

If you don’t like the murderball game play of racing through raids at 200%, then, yea, remix is probably not for you, as that’s the best way to get bronze. But even then, its the mounts the cost the most, the gear is pretty cheap.

I still have make another run at Garrosh – I bought all the heirlooms and when I got to the shoudlers, I have 19 of the SoO currency left. >.< So close! doh!

Huh? The post isn’t saying that it’s difficult to get the currency or achievements necessary to purchase the items from the vendors. It is about weapons that are unavailable from vendors or achievements.

There are hundreds of weapon skins in remix that are only available as RNG drops. They consist of unreleased color variations of existing and very iconic MoP weapons, for example the Sha-corrupted, Mogu, and Troll themed weapons as well as some previously unreleased weapon models, including some nice low-fantasy designs. Some of these are extremely difficult to farm as they are only from narrow sources requiring specific zones, raid difficulties, or class eligibility. For most people the massive time commitment across multiple characters to secure these appearances is unrealistic, while even going after specific appearances is still subject to RNG failure. I personally don’t want to level and gear up a new hunter just to get the bows for example, even though there are fantastic bows. If I can’t buy it on a single character, it sure would be nice if they would consider letting us get these in some way going forward on retail.

For some people, the limited time availability and heavily RNG dependent nature of the drops is stressful, because we either miss out on something desirable, or make a absolutely massive, and unrealistic time committment to farming these out. While we live with the reality of unobtainable things in other aspects of the game, it seems that they otherwise wanted MoP remix to be a fun, lightweight romp which this is against the spirit of.

Yeah 192 of the appearances are not in retail and are MoP: Remix exclusive. There is almost no way of getting all of these. Would like to hear from blizz that they are adding these as a purchse.

I am not going to put in 6 hours a day for the next month just to get screwed by RNG and still not get them

Definitely agree this is ruining the “light hearted” grind for me.
