So 80% og the world is a Desert, the last 20% is total overcrowded.
How could this happen? Well, it’s simple: we open new servers where we already promise TBC, but provide no information about what will happen after SoD.
So the only ones spending time beyond a bit of farming are the Scepter quest players and the heroes helping them, who can be found in SoD. Everyone else in SoD is leveling on fresh servers so they can have a character ready for when SoD ends. “Technically, there’s nothing to do until AQ is released, and even then, most of us just raid-log.”
First, they need to fix layers/hyper spawns so that people actually feel like farming rep and helping the Scepter quest runners.
Right now, I think the devs should be forced to stand in one of these zones for 10 hours a day over several days as a Warrior, trying to tag mobs against Warlocks spamming Searing Pain with instant casts and no travel time. Then they can tell us how fun it is.
Sod It has mostly been fun, but again and again, we see massive mistakes that leave the player base completely baffled as to why nothing is done about them. Just letting them rot is beyond me.
Imagine if everyone who helped a Scepter bearer obtain the Scepter received a special tabard never seen before.
turning in 100 Silithyst Dust could reward a toy “banner from your faction.”
Or if you defeated 100 players while carrying Silithyst Dust, you could earn a pet.
There are so many great ideas that would require so little effort but would make open-world activities far more appealing for players.
Many players love the start of an expansion or the launch of a new game because there’s so much to do when it comes to pre-raid gear. Classic does this well and will once again attract a lot of people to play on fresh servers. However, time and time again, we see massive drop-offs after BWL, as nothing new is introduced, and players fall into the trivial loop of raid logging.
Now is precisely the time to add a variety of new content, not just raid-based, but it need to be in the classic style, not the retail M+ cluster fish!
