Are you Horde? Around level 45? Feeling... lost?

One word for you: Hinterlands!

I avoided making the trek all the way to Revantusk Village (because, you know, Blizz loves giving Horde unreasonably far flight paths) until now and I am glad I took my sweet time! Upon arrival, I was bombarded with no less than TEN quests; almost all of them kill or gather quests! Tanaris had been lagging a lot and the quests were either red or in Zul’Farrak. But in the Hinterlands? A world of convenience.

After leaving the village and getting back on the mainland, I immediately encountered the Stalkers I needed. I killed them on the way to killing Vilebranch Trolls which was no problem. While killing all these things, whatta know? Razorbeak Skylord just drifts by, immediately drops the feather I needed! I make my way a bit west and BOOM, the Owlbeasts I needed next are there, along with some Howlers. Wouldn’t you know it? The Owlbeasts swiftly drop Giant Eggs that I need for my Tanaris cooking quest! But that’s not all!

The trolls dropped so much mageweave and coin that I’m no longer broke from buying my mount! Oops! What’s this? Picked up the Robot Chicken quest! Maybe I’ll get someone to help me with that later?

Going along going along and BOOM! Cassandra’s Grace drops out of the ‘blue’! I’m some healer, specifically a nice healadin, would like to buy that! Got a number of green drops and I eventually logged off because it’s late where I am.

So if you don’t know what step to take next, make your way to the Hinterlands! It’s lucrative and if you love killing things like I do, it’s paradise!

You say that, but I have a 45 alliance mage, and there are entire zones I quest in or need to get to more than once without a single alliance FP. Not just horde my friend

But Alliance scum doesn’t count. :eyes:

Actually, Horde has much better flight paths than alliance.

Ohboyyyyyyy here we go. I guess at least I’ve got a horde hunter.

45 is too low for hinterlands. You’ll be fighting orange mobs the majority of the time and the elite troll quests really need 48+. Swamp of Sorrows, Badlands, Desolace or Southern STV are much better options at that level.

Jintha’alor quests also give a ton of XP and AWESOME rewards for physical dps.

Citation needed!

In Kalimdor, perhaps, but Eastern Kingdoms is harsh.

We don’t have an FP in 11 zones, 9 of those in EK: Blasted Lands, Darkshore, Dun Morogh, Duskwood, Elwynn Forest, Loch Modan, Redridge Mountains, Western Plaguelands, Teldrassil, Westfall, and Wetlands.

Alliance don’t have an FP in 7 zones, though one of those they have a flight path right at the border which is the second for another zone (Feralas on the edge of Thousand Needles): Badlands, Durotar, Mulgore, Silverpine Forest, Swamp of Sorrows, Thousand Needles, and Tirisfal Glades.

As for the OP, I’m looking forward to getting there. That’s in the realm of Horde questing I never did in vanilla through Wrath.

Eh a lot of the early mobs in there early to mid 40s I believe… I’m 53 & a lot of the mobs I ran past last night handing in a random quest were grey to me. The turtles on the coast are like 50 but don’t think most mobs that high.

Horde have better flight paths and questing hubs for leveling. Alliance have better areas for end game.

Just lol at you thinking it’s easier for Alliance. Horde have a hub in STV, and a flight path.

Your intrepid lvl 45 journey is going to crash on that rocks that are the elite troll quests (Jintha’Alor). The upper tier of that place is lvl 50 elite mobs.

Definitely a fun zone, but realistically you should be starting the Hinters at about 48.

Grom’gol Base Camp negates basically any complaint about FPs anywhere else.

Love how there is a horde quest that sends you to Hinterlands at about lvl 41-42 but when you have completed that and figure heck, why not get the FP while I am here, you have to run a gauntlet of stealthed lvl 48 wolves to get to the ramp down to the coast.

Yes, but quite a few of those zones are Alliance zones. Don’t need FPS there.

Citation? I know from playing both. For example, Stonetalon mountains. We are in the middle while Alliance are all the way at the top. Barrens has three FPS. Those are just two examples.

Actually, Grom’gol Base Camp is what prompted me to find out how few FPs we have in EK, and how far apart some are.

Grom’gol has no connections other than Booty Bay when you get there. Want the next FP? Run through Duskwood and Deadman’s Pass to get to Swamp of Sorrows.

Where to next? Burning Steppes is the next closest Horde FP. Unless there’s some sneaky route I never knew about (didn’t have high level horde back in the day), that’s a run back through Duskwood and up through Redridge Mountains, as well as all the way across Burning Steppes.

AFTER you have all the FPs, it’s not so bad. Before you have all the FPs, the map of FP locations is daunting. (Just compare the available dots, which includes neutral points, on https://classic.wowhead.com/guides/wow-classic-flight-points-zeppelins-boats-travel )

Yeah, but that’s how Alliance gets anywhere in that area all the time even with FPs. The triangle between Sentinel Hill, Darkshire, and Booty Bay is a lot of area. Grom’gol is centrally located in the most important questing zone from 30-45.
