I know my rights. I don’t answer questions.

Am I being detained?

I like this one, I also like the irony of their comment.
-enters thread
-makes generalization/insults opposite side.
-proceeds to only use insulting language to refer to the opposite side while presenting nothing of substance to the convo, as they claim opposite side does.
-misses the irony of that move.
-more insults.

At least their name is correct.

This stuff writes itself man.

GDKP crowd in a nutshell.

No self awareness. They think joining a GDKP means they have friends!

If they need more workers they should hire more workers.

Rmt and botting needs to be policed.

I spent a week, I reported over 120 times each day. It didn’t solve anything. So I gave up.

I’m considering getting an addon that can filter out chat messages.

I meant less content and more interface in my argument.

I don’t think you can ever 100% remove anything, it’s about mitigation. And right now mitigation is garbage. The botters are so plentiful and obvious and they don’t even hide it. When I played Era it was rare to see a real life botter in the wild. They all hid in dungeons to avoid detection from the players. Now you go to Arathi or Southshore and they are littering the landscape as far as the eye can see.

I am acutely aware of the arms race as it pertains to this sort of thing, and I am also aware of the ROI that goes into solutions. I work in Cyber Security so this is just an inherent part of it. I don’t think that Blizzard puts as much ROI value on heavy handed solutions to RMT, and they want lightweight low cost ones. I think this is a mistake can they are underestimating the cost to benefit ratio. But I also have zero ground to stand on with that either. Just a feeling of being jaded with so much bad news from this company in relation to corporate culture and decisions.

The ones I did in Era I did with guildies I liked playing with, and was the only reason I did it.

I quit in TBC when they closed my original server because everyone I played with basically left. I came back in Wrath because the few I did enjoy playing with were back. In order to get off the ground mid expansion I did one GDKP to get some initial funds. I did this AFTER I pugged Naxx and ran Uld with my guild, so I was already geared up. I only did one that way. The other I did was for a guildies Valinaar as I had stated previously.

My main view on this is that I hate most loot systems, and I also have no right to control how another group chooses to organize.

The issue is that if they did this they’d have to hard attack it on all servers or make SoD a separate sub.

Otherwise you’d just have the botters go to other versions of the game and wait it out.

You immediately insult someone that disagrees with you, I can’t believe Blizz would ever take you guys seriously. You’re genuinely pathetic.

Yes, get actual gms in the game to enforce their tos. Genius idea.

They have already infested every version of the game.

Which insult?

I’d love it, but they’d have to attack demand too so goodbye GDKPs.

Likely the carries would be included.

Get it all out. They need to enforce their rules.

And chortle when people go on about how Blizz is bringing GDKPs back, any day now.

Yeah it’s now in carry sales runs. The entire point was missed. It just went from one place too another hence why bots and rmt is still as rampant as ever.

I’m with ya brother.

I remember trying a EQ2 pvp server at one point and I got killed by a group warping around.

I complained in chat and people just said, “they don’t ban cheaters anymore” so I stopped playing.

One of these days…if we create enough alts, pretend it’s for the casuals, and act like victims…

Blizzard will bring GDKPs back.

Oh wait…

Its a good miniature example of the overall issue with combatting even basic botting/etc.

Do this. Even if spamming summon sales wasn’t a thing do this, they’re great and I should reinstall mine.

Fair, I think I understand what you mean better now.

It could be better for sure, WoW does seem to stand out a bit as having more botting activity in the open compared to other games. Maybe RS beats WoW out but they have much harsher first time penalties IIRC.

I wish I could say something helpful as to what could be done but sadly all I can say is report when you can.

If it isn’t bad enough to have a visible and marked player exodus they may consider the ratio acceptable as it stands. I hope not. I don’t work in cyber security but a few family members and close friends do, they have very little input as to what could be done without putting a bunch of extra “ARE YOU A HUMAN?” checks everywhere or making the game way to restrictive to enjoy.

Even in the small corporation I do work for it’s insane how vast the disconnect is.

Honestly I much prefer MS>OS (+1) type deals. Keeps on person from consistently winning everything and allows for people to roll openly and not have to “save” a roll as carefully. Though all systems do have flaws.

In terms of control, I think this is the first really strong example of Blizzard saying “Don’t play this way” and that will rustle some jimmies for sure.

The same people who cried about GDKP’s were the ones creating the threads about how now after they banned them, that people were gatekeeping groups LMAO.

The playerbase is so delusional.

No matter what, someone is going to cry about something and provide some BS reason and fake data and an explanation of why that “sounds good” enough to believe and they all run with it and use it as their go-to response when opposed by actual facts.

Better yet, get free summons!
