Yup, just isn’t as fun, but addiction is a hell of a drug.

I play other games when I’m bored of WoW.

But, based on the slate of games that are going to be released this year, I might not be coming back to wow in a long time.

If you come in to these forums, you’ll find more than half the people here are complaining about the game, then proceeding to threaten to quit or quit altogether.

However, Sunday was two days ago, and this forum is a minority vs the hundreds of players online.

But no. I’m not bored. But I do believe in moderation.

The forums are always like that. It’s kind of just their default state.

Care to elaborate on which games you’re referencing? I’ve been searching high and low for a decent game.

Would be nice to have a list for review on the radar.

Nope. I’d just play a different game if I was.

I’m enjoying it. Mythic+ is a hodgepodge of weirdness but it beats being in a weekly raid group.

Hitting that “losing steam, probably gonna focus on other games for a bit” wall but thats just something that happens

Personally, I’m having fun. A lot of people have completed their goals for the patch though, so it’s not strange to see them play less as a result. If you’re in an AOTC/CE guild and you get AOTC/CE, how many times is farm fun before it gets old? If you’re still progressing, though, I feel like there is plenty to do.

Yeah I think it’s gotta do with healing for me personally. It’s made both keys and raid unfun and tbh I’m ready to swap to DPS. As to what spec or class I am undecided currently. I’d like to keep druid and do balance or maybe warlock.

Not at all. I don’t stick to one piece of content like the people who are whining about lack of content or are bored. It makes no sense to complain when you gimp yourself… it’s like refusing to purchase apples then complaining you want apples.

I am enjoying myself in the game.

Yup. Its a snooze fest.

Nope, not bored at all with WoW as a game overall. I haven’t been bored or taken time off since Cata and WoD, otherwise, I just log on when I can and play. I look at the game as a whole though, not just the current expansion. I love going back to old expansions and doing things I didn’t enjoy as much when it was current, like Torghast. Love going back to do that now, especially going for the mounts or achievs. I don’t do raids or pvp, so doing achievs, pet battles, pet hunting for hunters, quest chains I skipped etc, I enjoy it all. Leveling alts is a fun part of the game for me as well, and I have a lot of alts.
The game isn’t just getting one character the end game, then spamming dungeons, raids, pvp or any of that, which aren’t “end game” content for me. The only end game thing I like do complete are rep/renown, which I have been enjoying doing on my main and a couple alts, for the transmogs and mounts especially. I have never had a problem doing what I need to do to get my rep up, it’s a goal for me. So overall, still enjoying the game as much as I did last expansion and the expansion before that and the expansion before that.

Problem with wow is that it caters to a demographic, that is not the one it has, and not the one that wants many people around. So we have the dwindling playerbase.

And before someone comes with “boo hoo still a lot of players”.

Of course, you would need to have Danused the game completely to have EVERYONE to leave at once. But there is a noticeable even decline in the playerbase that steadly decline since Cata, and if you normalize for the xpac hype, it has never grown.

Can it be for normal decline of any aging game ? No, not really. A lot of good games might not had the WotLK wow numbers, but they keep a steady number of players through MORE TIME than WoW exists even.

EVE Online was published in 2003. It has the “classic culture” twice. First, when they changed to photo realistic characters, people were all like “classic wow crowd” for the time it had the “Fallout style” cartoonish characters and more acid story. STill, it had around couple thousand concurrent players at first.
They had the so called Incarna xpac, in which they TRIED to introduce walk around characters, and some time after they found out not only that would discharacterize the “space shooter” game, as it would be very hard to implement. During all the time you could “walk on the stations”, there were the ones “classic wow style” saying pure space combat time was better.
At this time, there was a steady 10k concurrent players playing the game for a long time, and that remained so for a long time.
They tried steam, and for that, a lot in the game had to change, because Steam would not have the game as it was, and on top of those changes, playing EVE on steam was a pain. Accounts do not synch properly, etc, but still, it was keeping the 10k average concurrent players for a long time.

And finally, when they start like wow to introduce heavy monetization in a sub paying game, and started to pander to “specific democrappics (the people who craps in everything they are glorified)”, then it started to decline from the numbers it had kept so long.

The story started to decline, writting was TL;DR friendly, combat was the same crap wow became, with single serving stats and simple bashing keyboard ideas. They even removed all the specific things of space that made it so unique, like the amazing fact that YOU CANT HELM A SPACESHIP LIKE A FREAKING SALE BOAT. Much like they do with WoW universe.

WoW decline is SIGNIFICANTLY faster than EVE’s ever was even so.

Steam numbers for EVE are low, but still kept high for a while, but that is because no one who plays EVE from a time wants to play though steam, because it sucks.

WoW also does need a whole lot more players than EVE to keep it running.

Nah, I just started my first alt of DF. I want to focus on staff-specialization through inscription, but I’m bummed out about the lack of catch up mechanics. I probably won’t be caught up until the next raid tier.

Not bored but I also can’t play often or late (job etc).

What I noticed after Vanilla and the Start of BC was the “race to the end” mentality.

Many would push to the endgame and really the end game is just repetition any more with dailies, M+, and raid cycles which is just the same content till you figure out the dance. Then it can get stale.

PVP is really the only area that can be interesting in end game but you got to want to do that kind of thing. Also with small scale PVP it becomes a comp/class/meta situation so that can create a ‘burnout’ reaction as well as you try with the kit you have but get countered.

The the recent expansions continue to focus on the end game and it looks like a bunch of min games with solo shuffle, etc.

I am bored, but the grass isn’t greener in any other MMORPG for me. WoW is the only one that has good dungeons and PvP.

GW2 has great PvP with awful dungeons.
FFXIV has great dungeons with awful PvP.

Yes. Haven’t logged on in probably 6 weeks now. I still enjoy the game in bursts when new (major) content releases, so I’ll be here for another 6-8 weeks whenever 10.1 drops. But I can’t play this game for 2 years straight with no breaks like I have in the past.

Comes with the territory of playing the same game for over a decade though, not really a Blizzard problem.

Well, there’s the Destiny 2 expansion and Hogwarts Legacy that are out and I’m enjoying both.

I’ll have Diablo 4 open beta in a few weeks and then in April, I have Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to look forward to.

In May, the Legend of Zelda sequel to Breath is coming out and I will for sure be putting time into that.

In June, there will be Street Fighter 6 and Diablo 4.

And, I think at some point this year, FromSoftware should be dropping the Armored Core 6 which was one of my favorite series over the decades.

…so yeah - lots of stuff to look forward to this year. I usually get Keystone Hero and time my 20s every season for the portals so I may come back for that in season 2. But, assuming season 2 comes in Spring - there will be a LOT of competition from other games.

Edit: I somehow forgot mentioning Starfield, in all of this. Shame on me LOL.
