So far I have been enjoying the overall appearance and gameplay of the Dracthyr, and I’ve been having fun. I’ve only played WoW a tad now and then over the years, so maybe with this new expansion I’ll stick around more!
I feel over time the Dracthyr can be further expanded in several ways. For example, giving them access to more classes, or maybe giving the Evoker a tank spec so if people want to be a dragon race they can also be a tank character.
One area of improvement I want to point out in particular (since I haven’t seen it in the forums) involves the Dracthyr body sizes.
So far in character creation we have body sizes 1 through 4 for the Dracthyr form, with 4 currently being the thickest body size. While these options are certainly fine, I’d really like to have body size options with Dracthyr that are much more thickly built and much more thickly muscular. (For me, body size 4 is still way too thin!) Maybe add a couple of additional larger body sizes with these options, like 5 and 6. Dracthyr were created to be hardy soldiers, so it’s plausible to have that body size variety.
What are your thoughts on the body sizes and overall look on the Dracthyr, or your suggestions? I think the Dracthyr have a pretty nice start, but it’d be great to see them even more developed with appearance options as the Dragonflight expansion goes on.
As for me, I was hoping joining the Horde would come with a free gym membership, but unfortunately I was mistaken.

I’m a game developer myself so I may have some insight on this.
There may be a little more room to put some more muscle on the existing skeletons, but to get anything very significant they’d have to adjust the skeleton itself. There’s a good chance that the engine doesn’t support the retargeting of animation on arbitrarily-repositioned bones, so this may not be possible.
Then there’s also the issue that, even if the engine does have or could be updated to have this functionality, it would distort all of the actual animations as well, all of which would have to be duplicated and further adjusted. It would be just as well to make actual Draconid playable, but that’s also rather unlikely.

It would be nice if they offered even more muscular body sizes. Maybe add size 5 and 6.
Also, I wish they had a head size slider. I think the head looks too small.

Made a fem character since she’s my main and I’m perfectly happy with body size 1 lol. They 100% should buff the chest and shoulders like some fan concept art though
I honestly just wanted to have a bigger head for body size 4, I find myself always defaulting to the Shako headpiece because it’s the only Dracthyr helmet that makes the head look proportionally acceptable.

I’m not holding my breath but it would’ve been nice for more monstrous proportions. I get the feeling body type 4 was a late addition because its difference is more extreme than 1-3 put together, but it’s hard for me not to feel disappointed after having wanted playable drakonids for 15 years, and knowing that’s probably never going to happen due to redundancy in race options. I can’t imagine reptile races being so in-demand that a second would be added.
A compromise to the lack of transmog situation should be more body customization.
Great insight to know, and totally makes sense! Thank you.

Dracthyr definitely need a head slider. My biggest problems I have for the race is that their heads are too small, and they can’t wear pants.
I don’t really need more mass, but i want more options for proportions
Like…larger torso, smaller waste, larger thighs, smaller calves. Not necessarily the order i’d go for, but you get the picture.
Also a head size option
I like to keep the horns, my go-to combination is high stag + long horn ear. It clips through a little bit but looks cool.
