Are Wowhead's mob drops accurate?

I have completed Shadowfang Keep eighteen times over the last three days trying to get ‘Pattern: Dark Leather Tunic’ (I have also farmed various mobs on Bloodmyst Isle and in Duskwood for it but not enough to be significant).

While I have made some coin, acquired other useful items/patterns and generally been quite entertained, I am becoming concerned that I haven’t gained this particular pattern.

So does anyone know how accurate Wowhead’s info on drops are? I have no problem continuing to repeat the Keep but I would like to make sure I at least have a possibility of getting the pattern.

Sometimes WoWhead counts people who are ineligible for looting something towards the droprate. So a pattern might have a 10% droprate, but because it only drops for Alchemists or people on a certain phase of a quest, it gets listed far lower).

But considering it’s a BoE pattern with a large sample size, WoWheads drop-rates should be fairly accurate. Just gotta keep grinding and hope you get lucky I guess.

bruh it can have 99% drop rate and the possibility of you never dropping it is still there

Vallenheart, I know that Wowhead is inaccurate from personal drop experience.

I always giggle when I level a toon and get a green gem (can’t think of the name) that drops from the lower level boars. Wowhead says the gem doesn’t drop from the boars, but I know from experience on different toons, different years, different servers, that they do.

It was there!!!

Twenty-nine runs on my hunter
Eight runs on my warrior
Nineteen runs on my mage
Thirty-two runs on the warlock

Grand total: 88 runs! (approx. 26 hrs)

I am now swimming in gold, rep, items, other patterns, ect. Even got six Fel Steed Saddlebags!

I had so much fun item questing the Dark Leather Tunic in Shadowfang Keep, I decided to try for the Dark Leather Gloves in Gnomeregan.

Got it two minutes in! My cup runneth over!! :joy:
