Are we getting Gnomeregan in classic?

What phase will this be in?

What do you mean? Gnomer is available from the start of the game as an area and a dungeon, in fact Preach did a run in there on the Classic Beta. I am not quite sure what your question is.

Oh wasnt aware of that, im still learning what is in the phase and what comes base and whats not going to be in classic

Yeah, Gnomer was part of base World of Warcraft. Though, in Cataclysm it did get revamped into the Gnome starting area. In Vanilla it did exist though  It will be in phase 1.

I’m pretty sure the only dungeon not available upon release is Dire Maul.

So going by the pedia page. Its a 10 man dungeon? This will be interesting. Never ran a full clear on this, nor do i even know how to navigate it haha

5 man. Not sure why your source says 10 man.

So back in the earlier days of WoW most dungeons could be ran by more than 5 players. You could run Deadmines with a group of 10 people if you wanted. It was changed in a later expansion, though I do not remember which off the top of my head.

Edit: So, here is the initial information I got from an old MMO-Champion thread.

You can also, as Meow mentioned, see it notated at the bottom of the Gnomer wiki page.

Patches 1.3 and 1.10 seem to be the big noted ones but I could swear there was an expansion after that changed them again.

I was reading this, and scroll all the way down to patch notes. Says capped at 10 players?

Cant link, under the wiki page for it

It was changed during classic not another xpac

There has to be more to it than that because I clearly remember going into Deadmines on horde characters in a raid group of 6 post Vanilla. I don’t remember which expansion it was, I want to say TBC or Wrath but it was something I absolutely remember doing with a group of friends I didn’t even meet until TBC.

EDIT 1: In fact, here is some proof supporting that fact.

https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/dungeon-player-caps-are-wrong/187110

A 10 man group of 70’s in Deadmines. So there was another change after Vanilla at some point but I can not find when it happened at all. I knew it was a thing that changed further on in the game.

So far the patches I know of are 1.3, 1.10, and then another point at a later expansion all dungeons that had not been capped at 5 were then capped at 5.

EDIT 2: Direct video for those who don’t want to go to the thread linked above, for whatever reason.

There has to be patch documentation somewhere on when the last change was made… Wowwiki and Gamepedia are really slacking on documenting this stuff and google searches are turning up… less than useful information…

patch notes from 1.10 :
“In order to preserve the
challenge of these dungeons, they have had their instance caps
lowered. Stratholme, Scholomance, and Blackrock Depths now allow a
maximum of five players inside, and Blackrock Spire allows a maximum
of ten.”

It seems the lower level instances didn’t have the cap lowered until much later. Most did them for quests, and xp which would seem less efficient in a raid group anyway.

Yeah, that’s all I can seem to find though is the 1.3 change preventing 40 man groups from going into dungeons by dropping most of them down to 10 and then the 1.10 change to some of the specific dungeons, that you just mentioned.

Its so weird though that regardless of looking I can’t seem to find when they finally hard capped all dungeons at 5, I know it was in a later expansion but I can not find any information on it. Heck, I remember reading the patch notes that mentioned that had changed but I can not remember when the final dungeon player size change was done.

You couldn’t finish quests raiding it so it should be considered a 5 man.
