Are warriors okay?

As an altaholic who just makes alts and gears them up to 620 ilvl, I find that warriors are really lacking in the movement department, is it just me? I love the warrior class fantasy, but jeez…

This is after gearing a guardian druid, ret paly, MM hunter and frost mage.

I find that as soon as I’ve used (or wasted) my heroic leap, I’m just in a state of panic because there’s nothing else I can do to run from scary mechanics :frowning:

Would you guys advocate for more movement?

I spec into Dragons Charge (PvP talent). Helps with a bit more mobility.

i mean, is he wrong? charge you need to run to the enemy, only intervene can run a bit to an ally but the range is small

It only leaves you with heroic leap, as a long CD

Being a High Mountain Tauren helps with the bull rush even though it uses a global cooldown, and nitro boots from engineering also has saved my axe alot when they work. Outside of that, there is the gem socket bonus which gives out some extra speed as well. Aside from that, I defenitely wouldn’t mind more mobility.

Warrior isn’t as mobile as you would expect since Charge needs a target. We’re mobile in fights, but not out of multi target fights.

I don’t really feel much of a lack of mobility on warrior in PvE situations in all honesty, most of the time you can plan ahead with mechanics as the game is pretty scripted when they happen, between Leap which goes down to a 30s or even further with an evoker in your group, charge and intervene (if needed on a fight by fight basis) it’s pretty chill to stay on target.

I’m also a big supporter of Speed enchants on certain gear slots over other tertiaries. Wrists giving a big 1k speed is the better option on this slot over the 2 other options (imo) and Speed on boots tends to put you at more than enough extra movement speed to not feel slow mid encounter. My take is, the faster I can walk, the less chance I’ll get one shot by certain mechanics.

How much total speed % can you get from enchants?

I’ve specced my warr into the 5% from the base talents, would it be possible to get up to 10+?

This is what I did with my DK. Speed enchants on wrist and boots. Plus got lucky with some gears getting speed stats on them when they dropped. It really helps so we can avoid stuff manually and save the movement skills for emergencies. However DK does have more movement skills now with 2 Death Advance and 1 wraith walk. While warrior only has heroic leap so I guess as a warrior you do need to be more precise with positioning and knowing mechanics.

if you have mobility issues with Double Time and Bounding Stride, then you are just mashing your mobility buttons when you don’t really need to

Prot warriors are even more ridiculous because they also get intervene / shield charge

fortunately when youre not fighting, you can mount up and fly so that’s not really a big issue

you cant rly really on charge to get away from enemies and avoid mechanics

And that is not even going into the realms of pvp where roots and slows ground you regardless

i cant speak on pvp, but i cant think of any examples in current m+ / raid where regular movement speed isn’t enough as long as mechanics are planned for properly

and even still, heroic leap into sprint on a 30s cooldown is really good

Charge x 2, dragon charge, heroic leap. Root people with thunder clap. Stormbolt 3 people. Shockwave everyone. Intervene back to ally. Yeah we need intercept back.

Yeah pvp doesn’t exist to me.

I find that while the 30s cd is nice, it’s literally the only ohsh*t movement ability i have. I would even prefer having 2 seperate abilities on 1min cds. Or just make it so it has 2 charges.
Intervene and charge don’t really count since they actually require a target to move to (imo).

And this is all in comparison to other classes right. We have palies (who are essentially a warrior class) that can zoom all over the place constantly with divine steed and freedom ,and be able to concistently hit stuff from 20 yd range.

I agree. Heroic Leap should now have 2 charges. Maybe make unbound talent grant 2 charges of leap on top of the speed bonus. DK death advance also used to be only 1 charge but now has 2 charges which is very convenient.

I’ve enchanted and gemmed myself to a whopping 122% base movement speed. Gotta get them legs in, too.

I use the +1000 speed bracer enchant (Chant of Armored Speed), Scout’s March for my boots (+250 speed), and then I gem into Elusive Blasphemite for the unique color-gem bonus. I don’t use a cloak speed enchant, but I figure it’d give you another 1% of speed.
