Are Visions Fun?

Haven’t done Horrific Visions yet, and and I’m looking at Torghast thinking it looks fun. Should I bother with the Visions runs? Are they comparable? Do you enjoy them?

I only do solo content and I’m a little burned out on the alts right now.

Visions are neat as an idea, but considering we’re doing the same two maps over and over and over again, and we’re expected to do this ad infinitum until Shadowlands…

meh

Basically this, its fun the first few times then it loses its luster fast.

I mean, it’s clearly subjective. I’ve enjoyed doing them. But I’m bored with them now.

Melee classes yes, Range classes not so much.

Alright well thanks everyone. This seems to have bi-factional support. Back to the Loremaster grind…

theyre pretty fun. they require you to learn pathing and light boss mechanics

When you’re first getting started, yes, actually. It gives you that feeling of progression you get from games like Stardew Valley, where each time through you can feel yourself getting more capable and the vision itself getting easier (Since your cloak is reducing the sanity drain and the research is upping your power).

Once you get to full clearing and start masking, though, the fun goes away and gives way to frustration.

This
It should’ve been every city
I love Visions
But the same 2 cities over and over and over…

If you do them maybe read up about what they actual are and what you can expect. I didn’t and I felt a bit blindsided by all of it. Ultimately it worked out so I may start doing more of them when I get some better gear.

I have crap internet, and they are unforgiving. If you like the “sense of urgency” a timer gives you, they can be a rush. If you don’t you likely wont enjoy them

It honestly depends on what you define as fun.

To me progressing through them to finally beat them was fun and then ramping up the difficulty to beat for better rewards was fun but to others it’s agony.

So here’s the thing…

…since 8.2, I have been absolutely burned out on endgame stuff. I had zero interest in any of 8.3’s features so I have been playing alts and having a good time leveling. Finally, I decided… what the heck, I’ll knock this 8.3 crap out just so I can see the story and be done with it.

I started the questline, which I found entertaining and got my cloak. I thought the assaults were absolutely horrid and figured I would not enjoy the rest.

Then I got to the visions. I just started them last weekend… and holy crap, I am having a great time. Granted, I’ve only been doing them this past week, but I have found them to be a great deal of fun. As I’ve gotten more confident in them, I’ve started to explore more and found all kinds of hidden things.

If you’re like me, and you don’t like to read guides and have your hand held… it’s a great deal of fun exploring, discovering, and testing your limits.

I am pleasantly surprised.

Nope. I’m older and slower and so timed content is just … not something I am interested in at this point.

In Legion, we had the Mage Tower which I made a couple of attempts at and said nope, not for me. It was all good. Here though they have tied them to gear so it’s making me more and more frustrated with the game.

Visions are anything, but fun. They feel like a chore especially when you have to do them over and over again.

They would be more fun if it was more forgiving on alts.

This is my biggest issue as well. I would have liked to see more maps and maybe a way to select them, each with their own set of items you can only obtain in THAT vision.

Its not a sfun as mage tower but its a good enough diversion.

It’s become a chore.

I kind of like it but i refuse to grind the coalescing to get access. So once my initial ones I got from the intro stuff ran out I just quit doing them.
