Are they still doing the zombie event thing on prepatch?

I’m terrible at keeping up to date on things basically the forums is how I do it. Did they nerf the event or will it still be happening on prepatch?

Yes, but the event has been nerfed.

Ghouls cap at 14 and only attack players who are flagged for PVP. You can no longer kill NPCs.

Ghouls now take massive fall damage from the slightest fall.

It’s still going on but it won’t be anything like it was with the Wrath pre-patch.

Wow they nerfed it that hard? That really sucks all I was looking for was an opt out option & never wanted it to be nerfed.

Well there is an opt-out option. Just don’t turn on War mode and don’t flag yourself for PVP and they won’t be able to touch you.

The problem is that the vast majority of people will stay opted out after the first few days so the event will basically be dead on arrival.

So the part about having to opt in to PvP to attack the ghouls is correct? my friend has been telling me this has been the case but I didn’t believe her.

Zombies got ruined.

Does it at least come with a quest line?

I wasn’t going to be too into it cause the gear it drops is pittance and all 7 of my toons already outgear it but I was at least going to do it to prep myself for the SL lore.

What?! Only pvp?! What da fu?!?

They might as well give us a cut scene of some rampaging undead that get pushed back and killed then have a present in the mail waiting for us with the loot.

Yes there is a quest line but it can be completed within a few hours.

The gear that drops from world events or quests is around 100 ilvl which after the squish will be similar to Normal Nya gear levels according to Bellular.

They don’t want you to opt-out. They want you to experience the content and I guess a hard nerf was the only way to do that.

Is the event going to take place everywhere or mainly in the principal capital cities? I would hate it if the other faction ruins the experience.

Don’t worry, Blizzard has already ruined it.

The opposition can ruin the capital cities any time it chooses, war mode or not. The fact that people thought this event alone would allow another faction to attack their city is silly. Having war mode off has never stopped me from being phased with the opposition with war-mode on either. I’ve seen it plenty.

AFAIK it’s going to take place anywhere that people are flagged and want to participate but likely the biggest interactions will be in main cities.

at that point why even bother having the event

Ok, I see. I was hoping they would design the pre patch event in a way that the one faction wouldn’t “ruin” the event for the other. Let’s see how it develops, then.

Hopefully, everyone will be busy enough in their own cities?

The scourge themselves are different from the pre-patch quests (so yes, there is a quest line). From what I could tell you can get some transmog items.

The quests seemed very similar to the pre-patch quests for Wrath and when I moused over the transmogs in PTR I had all of them already. I’ve actually been in PTR and had what went live be almost completely different, so they may be reusing some old content just for PTR and what is live may be new quests or transmogs.

I don’t know what you are talking about, so… :man_shrugging:t2:
