Are they ever going to fix Soul Fire's visual?

Seriously! With the spell being more relevant now there is no excuse not to fix it’s visuals. With fel/green fire turned on it’s just 3 formless balls that look like they are missing most of their VFX (which is probably the case). For something that’s supposed to be a hard hitting, long cooldown ability it looks completely ineffectual and downright puny.

The spell’s icon is reused from the Imp’s Firebolt, the red visual is a copy paste of Fire Mage’s Greater Pyroblast, and the green visual is from Mists of Pandaria.

Impressively bad considering it’s one of Warlock’s most iconic spells… but then again, spells like Shadowfury are somehow even worse.

Iconic? It’s old is all. Repurposed also, for the better I believe but hardly iconic.

Honestly it was so disappointing finally getting green fel fire and noticing this ability used the old model instead of the new one but green. I couldnt take it anymore so i switch3d back.

The green fire abilties shouldve all been updated.

I’m glad that I’m not the only one that is bothered by this miss. Every chance I get, for so long now, I have reported that Soul Fire affected by The Codex of Xerrath does not use the new Soul Fire model/vfx that the spell has now. It’s a shame because the new visual is solid but I just want to see the proper fel version. I love the new skill along with the Decimation talent but I hope they fix this one day. I can only report the bug so much…

P.S. The same issue happens with the Imp spell Firebolt. Without the codex the Imp uses an updated visual but the codex version uses a super old and out of date version. One can dream I guess.

Wait there are better visual in the red versions?!!

I used green fire so long, I was unaware what I’m missing !

Yeah, it still looks pretty bad but with the regular red/orange version the balls have more particle effects and actually look like fire, lol. It’s literally a bug that’s causing the green version to be missing most of its VFX that has gone unfixed for literally as long as we’ve had Fel fire.

Destro Lock has always been my main alt and it just bugs me so much that there is such a huge visual disparity between the abilities. How can Incinerate, Immolate and Rain of Fire look so amazing but everything else look like :dog::poop:!?

I rather the old Incinerate still… where it gets sucked along the ground to the target.

Yeah that’s was really cool of that spell. Soul fire animation arc is really strange too, it comes out like your trying to go for a 3 pointer in some basketball game.

Actually I’m not sure why but most of the magic spells lost their oomph look/sounds when they were updated to the new paste looking graphics. I mean this in the way that if you take a close look at in this case warlocks casting the shadows bolt animation, the visuals with the shadow aura that’s emanating from the lock hands doesn’t look like we’re casting something dark due to the way the graphic was design it almost looks like smoke instead of an aura, almost it looks pasted around our avatar not coming from within.

Even the weapon transmogs took a hit. If you check the old transmogs had more bloom to them and they were most correctly surrounding weapons size now is some really cheap graphic that’s more vertical incline and looks like they are just pasted on the weapons designs as to where some look downright horrible.

Especially on staves.
