I just hit 60 last night, and redid my spec, but I’m not to sure if it’s good enough.

This is the spec I’m using but I was told I shouldn’t take Improved Renew. Should I swap that for something else?
Also, should I keep Holy Nova? And at what point do I start downranking? I have 250 plus healing so far and 283 spirit buffed.
Definitely keep holy nova, because for 1 point there’s not any better place for it really. Get enough mana and you can farm lashers for easy cash (need to be able to cast ~9x holy novas in a row without SP gear).
I’d consider taking some points out of threat reduction and putting them into improved shield also…healing priests rarely have threat issues to begin with, but I guess it could help in 5/10 man AoE content. Shields can be useful for certain bursty raid mechanics like living bomb, or if you know a rank is gonna blow up on a garr add.
If you’re raiding and someone else has imp. fort you can also discuss splitting divine spirit/improved fort to free up some points.
Would definitely suggest the healing focus for sure over renew–raids you may get 1 shot, but for dungeons/pvp you may have a mob beating on you every now and then. Renew is probably the least used heal from what I’ve seen.
Downrank so that you can continuously heal throughout a fight and get max spell power benefit. I’d suggest starting with spamming rank 4 heal in a fight and see how your total healing + HPS looks–you’ll probably be pretty solid on throughput. If you need more throughput because a tank is dying, just start throwing higher HPS spells or flash heals occasionally.

Would the Improved Renew be useful for regular dungeons like Strat Live / UD, Scholo and LBRS/UBRS?
I would urge you to consider a 31/20 Disc build.
Just as good, if not better, for PvE healing than a 30 point Holy spec. And the added benefit of not being a free kill in PvP and actually being quite difficult to kill.
I would suggest something like this for a PvE Disc spec (put the last 2 points anywhere you like, mine are in Holy Specialization for the extra 2% crit to all Holy spells).

I almost NEVER use renew when I heal on my priest…I think it will get better with 8/8 transcendence and push your healing through the roof.
Renew has a 2.3 HP/Mana ratio and is prone to overhealing. Heal rank 4 is a little more efficient at 2.5 HP/Mana and can be canceled if your target gets topped off before you get it off. I would only use renew if I’m needing to get my HPS up on a tank.
Improved Renew is pretty bad, I’d just move 2 to Healing Focus and dump the 3rd anywhere; 1 point in Spell Warding is marginally useful I guess. As mentioned above, take 3 points out of Silent Resolved and put them in Imp. PW:Shield. Then you have one point you can either leave there or move somewhere else; at that point it really doesn’t matter much.
As soon as your max rank heal heals for more than you need. You should have been doing this while leveling, even without any +heal gear.
