I think the sacrifice being discussed is that the Nelf souls can frolic in Ardenweald and Rest In Peace, or sacrifice themselves to the seed and its mysterious purpose.
Not necessarily the initial death part.

I am also a night elf player.
If blizz wanted to go the genocidal route, than they should’ve stuck with it throughout the entirety of BfA. Probably get a lot less complaints of being the villain than.
Blizzs problem is, after the prepatch event, they wanted to pretend the genocide didn’t happen
So its not a matriarchy, its just a society defined by gender in which a fairer sex holds most of the power…
Huh… so its definitely not a Matriarchy
As someone who served (voluntarily enlisted) in the Army infantry at a time when the majority of infantrymen were draftees and none of them were from the rich families who had a choice of avoiding altogether, serving in the rear echelon, or serving as officers (depending on how far up in the social hierarchy their family stood); I can say with confidence that “make up 80% of the army” does not equate to “hold(s) most of the power”.
I was being sarcastic XD, appears my sense of humor isn’t as great as it used to be. To much time inside I believe. Thank you for your service btw
You served back in 1973? Cause that’s the last time the draft was used so that’s the only way you’d be able to serve with drafted infantrymen.
Fandral was never a racial leader. He was the big druid in Teldrassil, though.
I prefer to read it as Night Elf Forum Poster’s Association.
The whole war of thornes was such a wasted opportunity.
It wasn’t used as a rallying cry to make NEs or Alliance story more interesting or meaningful.
We got an attempted “Avengers” storyline before that got sacrified on the Sylvanas redemption altar.
And we didn’t get a better/smarter Alliance out of it. That would make them compelling… nope instead Alliance characters and locations got destroyed so we can tell another story about the Horde.
And now we are supposed to be happy with a giant almond filled with soul fertilizer
Meanwhile Forsaken have Lordaeron back with Calia and whole new system of government.
It’s cool until they are the default Worf against a faction largely defined by hyper-masculine males.
Blizzard: nelves’ civvies nearly defeated the entire horde alone.
Anya: the nelves were worfed to show males dominating a female facing race
Oh boy… One of these.
We had this discussion quite a few posts up while you weren’t here. Blizzard said they were a matriarchy, but everyone seems to disagree.
Yeah, it is pretty cut and dry. The entire Kaldorei Government is female, most of the army is female and historically female exclusive. To be a Male with any degree of power, you need to be part of the Cenarian Circle, an organization that acts independently but not above the Kaldorei Government. And if that is not evidence enough, we have Blizzard explicitly telling us that the Kaldorei society and culture is matriarchal.
Surprise, surprise, a bunch of computer nerds online disagree. Who could have foreseen this outcome.
I am glad someone else sees this.
They still lost like they always do, darling. Talk it up all you want, they are still losers, and no one cares about losers.
Funny how Night elf loses are always center stage and their wins marginalized off-screen like the rest of the Alliance. Gotta focus on the masculine fist pump.
Darkshore’s warfront wasn’t marginalized or offscreen.
An already powerful hero takes a risky power-up and barely accomplishes anything with it. The Warfront lacked a cinematic until the warfront was old news. We found out who won the warfronts in books and Twitter posts.
Meanwhile, sad orcs whinging about honor and Anduin center stage with high quality cinematics.
The irony in this is delicious.
The sad orc wasn’t a racial leader.
The orcs had no racial leader for two or three expansions.
Then it was announced on twitter.
Not that Night Elves would ever know what that’s like.
They don’t lose mainstay cast members more often than once an in real life decade.
IT’s been Tyrande for 5 digits worth of years. She is the Night Elf representative along with her aide Shandris when the nations meet in Stormwind.
She’s also the target for the Horde Leader PVP acheivement.
