I’ve no interest in harvesting souls/anima/whatever you want to call it for these cults in the shadow lands. Doing who knows what, maybe even eating them, we don’t know.
Is this joining a Covenant Mandatory? Can we get an option to just be neutral and not join a Covenant? Cause I wouldn’t for a moment remotely think about doing this. It’s completely out of character, and I got dragged through plenty of “out of character” stuff through BFA.
So yeah, option to not join a covenant please? That’d be nice.
But seriously, Taking anything something from the shadow lands says at face value, without any form of skepticism is a sure fire proof of being easily manipulated. Like seriously, people just taking these beings at face value? no skepticism at all? not worried your being used? Come on, we’ve been through this rodeo more than once haven’t we?
Edit: And all of this isn’t even remotely touching the absolute train wreck that will probably be the Covenant choices being basically a non-option for alot of classes.
Already seen complaint posts today about it, where the abilities are so vastly different it’s not even funny.

Yes, you’ll take the fluffy wuffy everythings kind and cuddly covenant on your DK for the DPS boost and you’ll like it.

Yup. Mandatory ap grind like your necklace.

I don’t have a Death Knight. Why would I play a terrible class?
Okay, but gathering Azerite is one thing, literally stealing souls to sell them off for power is completely different.

Its anima, its different.

You’re ushering lost souls to their final resting place. Its fine. You’re not eating them.

Why should you worry? After all, you’re Horde. You ain’t got no soul.

Get an extra special, personal preview of content not shown at BlizzCon did you?
We have no idea what we’ll be doing for the covenants. Don’t act otherwise and get in a huff. Through questing we will work with each one a little bit so you can see their style, then choose one to help for the rest of the end-game.

Seems to just be trading people’s souls for power to me.
Once again, more stupid immersion breaking junk being tossed in that’s mandatory to do.

Link source.
It’s literally the story of the expansion. How can that be immersion breaking?

Because I literally would never trade souls for power, because I’m not some stupid power hungry moron?
Would have thought that’d be stupidly plainly obvious to a paladin.

You missed my point. Link your source on trading souls for power. Because other than maybe the Necrolords, nothing like that was mentioned. Anima is a thing but we don’t know how it works. If anything, we’re trying to save souls from the Maw who shouldn’t be there.
Separately… something is immersion breaking if you takes you out of the story being told. The story is the immersion. If you don’t like the story, that’s fine, but it’s not immersion breaking because the story is what’s immersing you.

1/10, you managed a bite.

The entire BFA storyline was immersion breaking for me, despite it being the “Main story line” because none of it made sense, it was a convoluted mess, and it was requiring my character to do things they would -never- do.
Same thing applies here. The storyline of a game can easily be immersion breaking, just because it’s the “Main line story” doesn’t mean it can’t break someones immersion into the world.
Also, I highly doubt that, and until prove otherwise, I won’t believe it.
There are entities in shadowlands that eat souls, that’s already been established. All these covenants regardless of what they look like, probably get power from absorbing the souls of the dead.
Something I have no interest in supporting.

You’re just doing a job that needs to be done. It’s the wow universe after life.
Some people take RP WAAAAAY too seriously.

I’m not doing that job.
Also, RP is the only thing that keeps this game interesting anymore, doing the same thing year after year doing the same old tired things lost it’s “Charm” years ago.
You might be a sociopathic murder hobo that doesn’t care about anything, but I’m not.

Now you’re just trolling, or earning an Olympic medal in jumping to conclusions.
Please tell us exactly how anima works and how it constitutes “eating souls”, when we know that the Arbiter guides souls to specific destinations based on personality so they can continue to fight (Necrolords), be reformed (Venthyr), serve (Kyrian), or be renewed (Night Fae).

I mean, if your just going to believe what the denizens of the Shadowlands say at face value. Have at it, hope it doesn’t come back to haunt you.
I don’t trust any of them, at all. The Shadowlands has always been notoriously a terrible place.
I ain’t working for them.
