Are there undiscovered quests in Classic?

I’ve been driving myself mad trying to figure out if there is a hidden Quest or interaction in Classic that no one has discovered so far. If there is nothing there, that’s fine but can a blue please tell me to stop wasting my time? Here is the info I’ve collected:

  1. Opus the Owl in Burning Steppes has a bunch of quotations, including a reference to “Cuergo’s Gold…with Worm.”
  2. Opus the Owl is locked up in a cage in the PTR but flies free on live servers. I believe that this is to prevent a user from discovering this secret on the PTR.
  3. Cuergo’s Gold with Worm is a very rare UNIQUE drop from a repeatable quest in Tanaris. If you put the three map pieces together it allows you to go to Southern Tanaris and kill a few pirates, the chest contains a few items including Wirt’s Third Leg (a reference to the secret cow level in Diablo 2)
  4. Cuergo’s Gold Worm is an anagram for “Cow Smuggler Door”

There are a few other pieces of less meaningful information that hint that this is some sort of rare interaction.

I am driving myself crazy trying to figure out if there is anything here. Can a blue please put me out of my misery and tell me that I’m wasting my time? It’s driving me NUTS

I’ve looked into this too. It look like that it’s an old scrapped content/easter egg.

So weird that the cuergo gold with worm was removed in 4.0.3a for no reason (yeah i know cataclysm but it didn’t touch this part of the world)
