Are there people out there who play WoW exclusively for PvP?

If so, why? I can’t imagine anyone find the state of PvP enjoyable at the moment.

Yes, I don’t know how though.

tbh, the friends I have that played nothing but PvP went to classic and never came back.

I used to. I’ve kinda gotten sucked into mythic dungeons as of the last two expansions, however, mainly via gearing for PvP. Ironic, really.

Also, I seem to notice and this is my opinion of course, that many PvP-focused players tend to be rageful and far too often immature. This can make really getting into it difficult for me.

I have a few friends who pvp 95% of their game time. I’ve been begging one of them to pve with me since Legion. I finally got her to agree, it was like a negotiation with a terrorist. She healed a 7 and said "that wasn’t bad " . Just last week.

I used to but like you said the state of PvP is less then enjoyable. I wish Blizzard would go back to the old way they did PvP. Heck I prefer Legion templates over the mess its currently in.

I generally only play my warrior at the moment for PvP. Arms is pretty dang fun in battlegrounds.

There’s always going to be some imbalance to deal with.

There are people who enjoy Dane Cook comedy specials, so clearly there’s something for everyone.

I would but either having to tryhard in PvP to maybe get geared or tryharding in M+ or raids to get PvP gear isn’t exactly fun, and if you do neither you’re just going to get stomped

That and balance is in such a bad place right now

Used to until they decided to remove PvP vendors. The template in Legion also killed it for me.

I do and this is the first expansion I have not really done so…

I usually have 1-2 max level characters I play throughout the expansion.

so far I have 6 120’s all different classes that I all did not like or got bored of in PVP…

I just keep swapping mains because it just not to fun… ill prob give up eventually…

That’s pretty much all I do. Across about 4 toons I have about 500,000 honor kills. The reason I pretty much just play PvP is because PvE doesn’t present enough of a challenge anymore. From Vanilla - WotLK I raided bleeding edge, and it was great and all, but after a while it becomes easy (ier) and predicable. Once you beat a boss, its just rinse and repeat and is always the same. In PvP however, every fight is different because the person on the other end of your enemy is different and presents a challenge. In addition to that, you actually have to use your full toolkit to do PvP.

Is the state of PvP enjoyable at the moment though? No, not really. The one aspect of this game, I truly think is challenging is RBG’s, and they are harder to get into then a Mythic Raid by far. And the work to create a group to play with is by FAR more challenging then creating and running a raid team.

I’ve been strictly into PvP since tbc. Always played on and off between seasons. Got 2kish Bfa s1. Pve doesn’t change weekly but pvp is always different.

However in its current state, I’d rather play classic. Especially pve wise, it’s a lot more fun. Played some 2s last night, back to classic soon after.

I was really hoping pvp would change this expack. Bring back honor vendors etc. It’s just kinda meh atm. Although I’ll probably still do arena and try to get the elite set again.

I pvp on retail in hopes better things will come. Re-live the Wotlk days.

I played mostly PvP before Legion. My goal each season was to gather conquest set. It was a progression I could so with a friend without the need of a raid group, and have fun of PvP along the way.

I don’t think this is that strange or unusual. Even back in Vanilla, one of my primary drives for attending MC all those nights was getting gear for PvP. By comparison, raiding to get gear to raid more felt kinda hollow and artificial. Like, it’s cool that getting T1 let me step into BWL, but if that were all it did I’m not sure I’d bother.

A lot of people seem to dislike rewards “crossing boundaries” in terms of usefulness, but I think it’s ideal, because it encourages players to be more “well balanced” instead of strapping on blinders and tunnel visioning on a fractional slice of the game.

I think the vast majority of PvP First folks have left for better waters. I would even daresay that WoW PvP is in such a bad state right now, that Final Fantasy XIV (the game that launched with NO pvp) actually has better, more fun, more balanced PvP right now.

And there’s literal dozens of games that do PvP better than either… so if that’s what you’re looking for, you really don’t have much reason to stick around here.

The same reason people buy lottery tickets, that 1 in 14 million chance of winning :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m was primarily a PvP player. I haven’t done any since Legion but the game is free. I’m just getting PF, leveling alts, hoping they’ll fix it but that hope is fading fast.

I played nothing but BGs and Dueling people in Goldshire for literally 6 years until they removed vendors and PvP gear…now I do the standard raid the beginning of each tier, quit, unsub wait till next tier

Dueling was especially fun when there was no sharding because you’d see the same people and have these like mini-rivals log-in daily and find you and constantly try to get the leg-up on you. Unfortunately sharding ain’t going anywhere so I’ll settle for vendors and PvP gear

I’ve never really done rated PvP for long. The barrier to entry is too steep for me to care. 95% of the premade finder is lf 2k+ multiglad and RBGs are so hard to form a reliable group. If they added a ranked solo queue I would likely play rated because I have fun when I do hop in arenas I just can’t be bothered to sit in queue for literally 45m+ because I’m not a healer.

So with the barrier to rated being too steep, regular BGs and Skirmishes having literally no point with the removal of honor currency and pvp gear combined with the dueling community being destroyed via sharding. I don’t PvP anymore.

I … simply cant comprehend it. Surely there’s better games out there giving better game play of the same thing…

but whatever, Won’t yuck their yum. Seriously; power to you PvP people.

I apologize for all the times Ive noob’d up your fights with my PvE butt.

Could you list a few of those games with better PvP, please?
