Obviously the weekly quests give guaranteed renown, but from what I understand every other source is random. Is there any way to guarantee renown dropping?
The only way to guarantee renown is to play from the first day of each patch and never miss anything.

From what I understand, it’s nearly a 100% chance from dungeons and calling boxes until you’re about 10 below the current cap.
guaranteed renown from doing the campaign which you couldn’t have done if you aren’t at maximum yet because I am at max and only started a month ago.
Emissaries are guaranteed if you’re behind, I think.
The callings give you one, the covenant campaign gives you one or two, depending on how far behind you are, assaults give you one or two, weeklies give one or two. My alt just hit 60 a few days ago. He’s already renown 51. I never ran a dungeon or PvP. All I did was solo questing stuff.
World bosses always give renown when you are behind.
If you are way behind they even give more than one.
