Are there any true brain dead specs?

To put it a bit extreme. You press a simple rotation, you avoid the bad, and sometimes you hit a burst window. RNG and on the spot decision making isnt really there. And even if i do just the basics, i still get like 80% of the throughput.

Also, this is just leveling and world content. I dont mean LFG content (group finding content is fine).

I thought it was sin rogue, but i feel like its not (fortunately my muscle memory is generally on point since i only take a year or so break at a time - i can figure it out after a few days).

But i really want to try out new classes. I just used my 3 boosts on a dh (70), a mage and a priest (60). I tried pushing my poor shammy to 70 a year or so ago and got her to 64. I heard leveling is way sped up with the event, so want to branch out a bit. Ive a monk at 60 and a warlock, druid, pally at 50, a hunter and My closest warrior is 40, i dont have a dk. Havent touched evoker yet. Basically my roster is filled with rogues (and druids pre lvl squish).

So i think everything is possible, but obviously with the event about to finish, looking to prioritise. I want the dumbest class and specs you got… not to troll, but because i want to pick it up super quick and level without spending hours trying to work it out on a target dummy.

ETA:

So i did some quick and nasty research (thanks yt/saltii - also, role agnostic and actual difficulty agnostic - sin rogue isnt beginner friendly, but is the most beginner friendly rogue class for example).

Easiest for each class (Tier in brackets):

Warrior: Fury/Arms (S/A)
Priest: Holy (A)
Hunter: Beast Mastery (S++++)
Rogue: Assassination (C)
Mage: Frost (C)
Evoker: Both (A/A)
Death Knight: Frost? I forget. I tune out with DKs… (A?)
Shaman: Resto (S)
Monk: Windwalker (barely) (B?)
Demon Hunter: Havok (A)
Druid: Bear tank (S)
Warlock: Destro/demo. (A/A)
Pally: Ret (A)

Most difficult:

Warrior:
Priest: Shadow (D)
Hunter:
Rogue: Outlaw and Subtlety but its always been subt as long as i remember. (D/D)
Mage: Arcane/Fire (D/D)
Evoker:
Death Knight: ???
Shaman: Ele and Enhance (C/D)
Monk: Brewmaster (D)
Hunter:
Demon Hunter:
Druid: Feral cat and amazingly resto. (D/C)
Warlock: Affliction (B)
Pally: I forgor: Holy (B?)

Is that about right? As i see it then, my leveling process is:
Rogue (very easy).
Shammy (resto - L2heal).
Priest (holy - L2heal again).
Druid (Bear - L2tank).
Mage (frost - L2aoe).
Get an evoker… (L2 augment?)

I’m not exactly sure I understand.

Radiant Echoes? Honestly, as a leveller, I’d just hit what everyone else is hitting, and scoop up my XP and currency.

For my money, the easiest spec in the game for levelling and world content is Guardian Druid. You are effectively immortal, so barely need any defensives. You have your big heal for the occasional emergency, I suppose. Use Moonfire for ranged pull, and just hot whatever lights up from Thrash, Mangle, Maul, and Swipe.

In fact, any Tank spec gives you a very easy life outside instances. May not be the fastest, but with the ability to pull the whole zone, it’s very steady. Vengeance DH and Prot Warrior will want to jump into reticules you have to lay down with your mouse a lot, which does need some attention, but the rest are very consistent.

Beast Mastery Hunter is famously easy, Let your Pet do the running (any Clefthoof is very good this patch for general use).

I would put Affliction Warlock beside it. Similar idea as a pet class. Afflock is the laziest I can be in the game. Pop your DoTs, let the Voidie carry the strain, heal it occasionally, when you tab back in from YouTube, and you’re golden.

While their Tank specs will be easier, I find Havoc DH, Windwalker Monk. Frost DK, and Fury Warrior very easy to play badly - by which I mean, you can get by with three or four buttons and ignore all the resource management stuff and still get through the world handily.

Any Rogue spec, Shadow Priest, and Enh Shaman are three options that I, at least, find a bit unnatural to play, and definitely need to pay attention to.

I detest both the Dracthyr race and the Evoker class, so I can’t help with that.

If you want to use/level a class without learning it, have you considered the addon GSE (Gnome Sequence Enhancer)? It allows you to put the whole rotation of a spec on one button, so you just keep pressing that button. Actually, you usually have two buttons - one for single-target, one for AoE.

There’s a web forum,

  • WoW Lazy Macros,

where authors post their sequences, and a Discord,

  • GSE United,

where authors and users can communicate. Apparently, Blizzard blocked some of the functionality with TWW, so they had to write workarounds, but they have pumped out replacements quickly. When investigating a post recently, I tried it out, and easily tanked a dungeon using only two keys.

While I think GSE doesn’t give you optimal DPS, and some specs will need more because of reacting to procs, I expect it would get you to level without much skull-sweat.

Your advice is golden. It confirms almost to the point, what my scant research pre-empted.

Im definitely not looking for a ‘one button macro’. I do like feeling involved trying to play the game. Im just trying to figure out how best to farm this next week before the radiant echoes thing disappears (i literally only came back because i watched preach talk about leveling 60-70 in half an hour and thought… oh… thats like the most amazing jigsaw piece for alt leveling and kind of amazing for the new warbands! (im an ff14 player - switching jobs is easy, warbands and the leveling boost with echoes plus the collective bank makes this very interesting in a way the game hasnt been for a very long time)).

I just want to get as many classes as possible to lvl 70 with as little friction as possible (whilst also getting a general gist of their playstyle so i can enjoy it in lvl 70-80 content). Does that make sense?
