Are there any quest lines you refuse to finish?

So as I’m running my priest on MoP content, i was reminded of just how beautiful the Serpent’s heart statue was. And also how much i hated how it was destroyed and turned into a sha warzone from The Last Piece of the Puzzle quest. I remember the first time i played through mop and had no idea what events were about to follow and then being shocked and annoyed that the statue was permanently destroyed. As a result, this questline i tend to avoid to completion on my alts. I find Pandaria as a whole to be one of the most beautiful areas in the game, and this particular landmark was one of my favorites, hence why I won’t complete it.

I think I remember there being a quest in either bc or vanilla that everyone also hated to do cuz it was so depressing, involving the ghost of a child or something.

Anyway, does anyone else have a particular quest or quest line like that? Something you just refuse to do on your alts for whatever reason?

Alliance Andorhal questline. Although its a great quest and one of the few good examples of how to handle the faciton conflict with meaningful outcomes.

Also the Drustvar one on alts. Just because its cool to see the villagers perma-hexxed.

The 9.1 campaign or whatever it was with korthia.

The highmontains quest where you get a baby cow/tauren on your back. I can’t remember the name.

I refused the horse race in BfA after failing it a handful of times. Quests like that are precisely why I never loremaster and hence never flew in like the last 3 expansions. Sometimes the mini-games are just impossible to me for whatever reason, and I resent having to do anything for a quest other than kill stuff and/or pick up an obvious item.

for retail not so much. But there were many times in classic I was like... I'm not traveling 6 times around the globe for 1 gold. I refused a lot of the "escort this NPC through the gauntlet of fast respawn.". /cough Stonard quest cough

I don’t like the Bastion questlines as someone with CPTSD, making the characters live through and face traumas can be quite triggering.

The only one I tend to regularly avoid completing is the quest Family Tree in Horde-side Jade Forest. I just enjoy seeing your ancestors and the comments Lorewalker Cho makes depending on your race.

Pamela Redpath; she died to the Scourge.

Not so much a questline, but I refuse to accept the quests from Vol’jin and Varian in my alts’ garrisons because I like having them around.

Many alts haven’t even found the primus lol.

I don’t need the couple extra dailies that much really. They fiddle around korthia till pvp pops happen. Some even fish instead.

One char did the korthia campaign to completion. yay! her. She will do korthia part II to come in 9.2 for story as well. One char always does everything or close to it. rest? nah.

I remember running away from the Death Knight starting zone in Wrath thinking it was unrealistic that one of my characters would ever do such things. When I reluctantly returned after literally hitting a wall and finished I understood she had been mind controlled and I finished off having really enjoyed it.

Aside from that I don’t do quests where I have to kill non-hostile sentient beings unless they’re part of some greater evil.

City of light hands down. I failed twice because I fell asleep. Khadgar and his elemental can go to hell.

There are two chains that I pretty much refuse to start: The one that leads to the attack on Brennadam (no thanks to people nailed to walls while their children cry at their feet…), and the one that involves some goblins murdering those tauren in Stormheim.

The main Shadowlands questline.

I’m almost certainly skipping 9.2 and anything else this expansion. It’s just not good and at this point I truly don’t think their capable of making it any better.

Probably be back for 10.0, but that could be the hopeium talking. Lots of other games out there, and if 10.0 means returning for a third even worse iteration of BFA then that’s a hard pass. They killed hope.

I agree. I did the Brennadan quest once on my Alliance; never again.

Thanks for that one, Blizz… really well thought out. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

i never finished up the bfa end story campaign. i got over blizzard’s stupid decision to make yet another horde leader go crazy for no good reason.

horde has lost like 7 leaders now.

Cairne, Garrosh, Vol’jin, Rastakhan, Saurfang, Gallywix, Sylvanas.

Only the ones that can be skipped
