I’m aware Void Elves are getting skin tones and eye colors that are more appropriate for High Elves, but haven’t heard anything about hair colors or hair styles.
What a pessimistic attitude. High Elf RP’ers aren’t any worse than any other race’s RP’ers. Everyone has their own approach and spin to RP. Engage with those you like, move on from those you don’t.

High Elf RP on Alliance will be no more or less frustrating than Blood Elf RP is on Horde. And as a big Thalassian elf fan, I’m certainly happy.

I still don’t see all of the og blood elves race changing to high elf. I imagine there will be more voidies switching to high elf on Alliance, as high elves are typically Alliance aligned. If they announce void elf paladins I’d probably go too.

I too am looking. I rerolled my human mage into a Void Elf specifically so i could be a High Elf. I was very pleased when they revealed the new customization options. Also I don’t see a lot of other High Elves. Hope I don’t get shunned on the server for it.

Anyone who shuns you for RPing a High Elf isn’t worth your time anyway. They’re an awesome race that’s been a major part of the Alliance and has appeared in a major way in every expansion except WoD and BFA. High Elves are awesome!
I’m a proud Void Elf RPer myself but I’m a big supporter of my High and Blood Elf friends

Serious question. Why do you, a Blood Elf main (a race that was once OOCly treated as lesser by aspects of the Horde community) now have such an issue with High Elves? Isn’t it much the same thing?

I’m not personally interested in rping a high elf - I find void elves infinitely more unique and interesting (and I greatly enjoy their Kael’thas-esque approach to magic) so Fal here is all the elf I need on my list xD
But… Yeah I really don’t understand the logic around High Elves being a terrible thing. People have been rping as High Elves for a VERY long time. They’ve been involved in the Alliance for a very long time. I reckon they should be thrown a bone in this case - it’s a good compromise without adding a whole new race.
And I can’t see how the rp quality will change because, again, people have been rping them for years. Now they’ll just actually look like what they’re rping. It’ll be a hell of an improvement if anything!

I think his primary complaint is that he thinks suddenly 75% of the people in Orgrimmar and SW will be high elves. This does happen when new races come out, but eventually it balances out. I still don’t see this happening with high elves, as they’ll just be customizations within void and blood elves.
I’m envisioning “Thalassian Night” at the Legerdemain Lounge as a sort of mixer for neutral elves come next expansion. You know, for those characters not going to the Shadowlands.
