Are the WoW cookbooks worth it?

I’m getting back into cooking and baking, so I’m looking for stuff to make. Does anyone know if these books are worth it? Is the food pretty good and are the ingredients fairly easy to source/not too expensive?

I don’t have it myself, but my parents do and they’ve made some stuff out of it and I’ve taken a peak. As just a cookbook it doesn’t seem toooooo terribly unique. There’s many recipes called things from WoW but I remember one of the big things that WoW-ified recipes were just certain herb and spice blends that you’d make. A lot of recipes seemed to call for the same types of protein regardless of what the recipe was called. Like I’m pretty sure anything poultry related just had you use chicken and then a specific spice blend depending on the recipe. As a functional novelty I think it’d be worth it tbh. The recipes themselves turned out good. My parents have added the spice blends to their spice rack which is pretty cute. The desert section is also adorable, though I wouldn’t have the patience to match the pictures.

If you know a fair bit of recipes or have other cookbooks, the only new things you’ll learn are the spice blends and somewhat how to make it look like the WoW item. But because of that theme, idk I think it’s cute.

I don’t have it, but in the wow facebook groups I’m in, a lot of folks seam to enjoy it. :slight_smile:

The recipes in them are slight twists (not hugely) on many world dishes. That being said, the first WoW cookbook was well set out and easy to follow. My bf bought it for me for a birthday, and I’ve made several things from it so far, one of the dishes is his favourite :slight_smile:

We enjoy the cookbooks in my family and have made quite a few recipes out of them. A few have become family favorites.

If you like WoW and you like to cook, sure.

But IMO I like the recipes from America’s Test Kitchen the best. They test them out extensively and give you good options if an ingredient is hard to find and even give you the exact amount of things like salt and pepper you should add, which most recipes don’t. Their recipes always turn out really well whenever I’ve made them.

Also bonus tip: they have the best kitchen equipment reviews, anything I’ve bought that they recommended has been fantastic.

I thought the Avatar The Last Airbender cookbook was better to be honest :dracthyr_shrug:

But the WoW cook books aren’t too bad either. The second cookbook they did was better than the first though :slight_smile:
