I don’t remember. I thought SL was largely positive but maybe I’m decaffeinated. The tone of posts, and the subjects being of consequence seem to be less than it was 2 months ago.
Does anyone else feel like the forums are miserable right now? Or am I just a salty old dwarf?

And Shadowlands was a lot worse because it was simply less active. A good chunk of people simply tuned out at that point.
I tend to be more cynical and sometimes bitter before I get my caffeine.
New age WoW players take lead from the streamers they “follow” and just complain a lot. Most don’t even play the game.

At least the cinematic wasn’t controversial this time. Hundreds of salty lich king fans making threads at the SL cinematic announcement.
When it looks like boring crap it’s all you can do.
It’s bad ,when people want more influence in other topics not related to the game it is. They wish to force agendas such as sex and trans again,it is sickening when you just want to play a game in peace from the problems of the world.gg.
It’s only bad because there’s been an influx of people who don’t agree with blizzards progressive stance so they come on here and screech about their unwillingness to adapt to modern times,
Forums are like this right now when seeing the new expac.
There has always been some salty posts at each reveal but they for sure have been getting worst with each passing expansion at least since BFA. If you look at how those expansions have faired i dont think anyone should be surprised. people screamed and begged for a “rip cord” to be pulled in SL Alpha and those people were largely disregarded as just crying for the sake of it…well we know how that went but sure lets just keep pretending none of the complaints are valid. Then we will collectively call it trash after it launches.

A good rule of thumb I’ve noticed: the more they try to hype up an expansion…the worse it usually turns out…

It really depends on the how the current xpac is viewed. If more people are happy with how the current xpac works then the forums after the next reveal is more positive. If people are unhappy with the current xpac this is what you get. We are coming off of BfA and Shadowlands so the forums are at peak saltiness.
