I was struggling on my rogue to make an impactful difference in BGs and got tired of being blown up in teamfights and reliant on disruption so I tried out Brewmaster for a while.
What I found is that having really good survivability means you can usually screen for the dps and healers on your team. As long as you’re alive able you can apply slows and CCs for a long time, and the enemy has a harder time applying pressure to the squishies. And then there’s being able to disrupt node caps for ages and much more confidently going for objectives such as flags, something I couldn’t do nearly as well on my rogue (saps, blinds and stuns just aren’t sustainable for long before you’re out of CDs or caught by AoE or Demon Hunter sight).
The only secret here is people fixating on guardian because of rage of the Sleeper and thrash spam that has little real impact. The other tanks actually do more meaningful damage, have more utility and about the same survivability yet no one notices it.
Prot warriors can hit you harder, throw three silences at you while stunning you multiple times. No raging. I guess it’s because the bear is so obvious, the average random bg player can’t stop themselves from throwing their full rotation into a 10 second reflect damage.
this is probably because nobody plays any of the others in battlegrounds. warrior protection may be good, but you can play fury and also be a tank while doing more damage.
I mean besides a Good Tank, a good Rogue is the most impactful slot you can have. A Good Rogue can easily hand your team everything they need to win a Match. Everyone else just needs to follow through.
