Shadow Priest is quite playable.
Only loses viability because discipline priest is currently shining bright. Aka people will likely want another buff.
Every spec is fine for M+ in the range where you’re still getting rewards from it. Top-level stuff where you’re only doing it for rating/bragging rights is another story.
Dont fall for it! There are easier classes with better scaling for what you do! Avoid! Avoid!
I’ve legit never seen one in any PvE content this season
So idk, probably not amazing
Well, I have to question the designer who came up with Shadow Crash.
Shadow is indeed very bad in keys right now, and after the nerfs to raid and buffs every other spec has gotten it’s pretty darn bad there too since adds don’t live at all.
Some exceptional players in exceptional circumstances can get blood out of a stone. Doesn’t mean they should have to, or that anyone else can be expected to.
you will almost certainly have a better time as warlock if you plan to only play dps. shadow is okay in keys high enough for things to live a while. it’s mid at best in any other circumstances.
edit: posted 10 seconds after ellipsis. i would trust his take over mine
They bring PI, so they’re welcome even if their damage isn’t all that great.
I’ve given a couple Spriests a shot in keys
To keep it short and simple they’re pretty bad
You can get PI more efficiently from a healer
Bad kick
Vamp sucks
MD in shambles
Low dmg
Just not a lot going on
they are actually very powerful right now. more powerful than warlocks, generally speaking.
I’ve seen one shadow priest in M+ this entire season and he did about half the damage of the other dps, then the sham said “I’m done carrying this priest” and bricked the key.
LOL
What’s the deal blizzard and Spriest? They’re that incompetent at establishing a satisfying playstyle for this spec or something?
This is flatly untrue and performance data supports it.
Not to mention SP is one of three DPS specs to see no play in the MDI, even with the spec diversity rules. The other two being Survival Hunter and Augmentation Evoker (Though there’s some potential aug sees play in the upcoming finals post buffs).
Meanwhile destruction warlock was played every single day by at least one team, and was present in several world record level keys.
Yes. There is that saying “If you don’t like SPriest then wait six months and you will” but the opposite is also true because if you do like SPriest wait six months and you won’t.
That’s the thing. They’ve nailed the gameplay this time around, in Single Target at least. With both hero talents.
It just doesn’t do any damage or have relevant utility.
I mean crap like this is why I have no interest in supporting their participation in keys. See the abomination hero talents options for Holy Priest along with no interrupt. Blizzard wants to do a halfass job while expecting players to be on board… lol no.
If you said this I’m guessing AoE is bad?
Aoe is divisive. I like doing cleave based on my single target rotation, shadow crash has its problems but I don’t fundamentally disagree with it as a design direction, it’s very similar to Dragonflight in that regard and that worked very well.
It just does not do damage.
I personally love shadows AoE mechanic. There’s no decision to spend resources on AoE vs ST. You just keep casting like normal for the most part. It’s a relatively smooth playstyle
Every class/spec is bad right now. Probably best to stop playing entirely, delete the game, and then format your drives to make sure you get all of the WoW taint out of the system.
