Heard from some class discords that dmg difference for specs >100%. Eg affliction doing TWICE the damage of MM hunter.
Made me hesitant to sub as I don’t want to get forced to play a spec I don’t want to just to be in end game content .
Should I wait till DF is fixed ?

If you are waiting upon that, you may as well uninstall the game. There has never been nor will there probably ever be spec balance. Hell back in the day they couldn’t even keep the classes balanced. Either accept that some time you are a god and others the clown or just move on.
Prepatch is jenky. Balance at 70 will not look the same, however there has never been a time were specs were anything remotely close to balanced. FOTM is a tool the devs use to encourage people to reroll and play new specs. It helps with player retention.
It is incredibly frustrating when specs end up being garbage for years without intervention, but it’s a pillar of the games design. It won’t change.

We won’t know if they are balanced at level 70 until we get raid log data after Dec 12. People who want to wait can certainly wait, but balancing will be a never ending thing that will probably continue throughout the xpac. You could wait till the end of DF a few years from now, the xpac will probably be selling at a discount by then 
The data is available to everyone. The maximum DPS (excluding outliers) is Affliction at 82K and MM at 40K. But for the median, the difference is smaller, Aflliction 39K to MM’s 25K Although, once everything gets disabled it will likely change.

If you’re waiting for a period of perfect class balance to come along to play the game, you’re gonna have a bad time.
The devs never have, nor will, balance things for content that is not max level. As 60 is no longer the real level cap there may be skewed numbers until we hit 70.
Only then will we know how balanced classes are with one another.
this is just chaotic mote raid affix padding. when legendaries and covenants and fated affixes are gone things will be very different. nobody knows where balance will be when real content finally drops in december.

Balanced to what… raid needs to come out, dungeons need to come out on live to start balancing more. BUT OP, you aren’t going to have perfectly balanced specs. You’ll continue to hate hunter, and your pugging posts will continue.
Looking at dps charts on wowhead does not give you full details. Those are raid findings. We cant see details. So we assume affliction is top dps.
I recomand to do your own test on dummies. See what you like best.
a new expansion is coming…literally in 10 days…everything is tuned for LEVEL 70! So numbers right now dont mean squat. i dont know how people don’t understand this right now.
Yeah that’s a great idea don’t sub and not play at all rather than risk maybe playing a class you don’t like. Or you could ignore the min max people and play whatever you want anyway. As far as group’s LFR it up or post your own key/raid then you can decide who/what to take.
BM deserves to suck and be a bottom tier DPS spec until things change that makes them mechanically more difficult to play and to have some actual downside to the spec that ALL OTHER ROLES have.
Also nothing is stopping you from playing and doing endgame content. You and/or your guild sucks if they “make” you be a perceived meta spec and you’re perfectly free to drop them and find a group who will take you as you are. As you well know, Blizzard and their tuning passes can come from anywhere, anytime especially after the no life mythic raiding tryhards “win” the race.

Based on the official numbers, it’s less than half that of affliction.
