Oh damn, yeah the regen is going to be bad unless you’re in aoe. Maybe worth to throw a crafted ring at the stat drought. Assassination’s stats are (except vers till ??? never got the other stats high enough for vers to move up from bottom) all valuable. I really dislike the ‘2 stat and ignore all else’ style of gearing that most specs have to deal with, it creates holes. Not that assassination is perfect.
Def lower apm than the other two, which is why I like it in prog/M+.
I can only speak from personal experience. Stealth bugs where you keep dropping out of stealth are very problematic since the class depends on stealth. For sin, the whole getting NPC enemies to stand still is problematic in PvE and impractical in PvP. The caustic spatter talents, IMO, are quite bad. Modern tanks haven’t standed in one spot for a number of expansions. Frankly, enemy npcs shouldn’t just ‘stand in fire’ either.
I had a build pre-patch that I was okay with, but was considering playing sub or outlaw. Although the SnD change was a wonderful QoL change, the rest of the changes were F tier. I also disliked CT was was nerfed as it was good filler for the build I was playing. Reveb changes with the super-charged talents were also ill-advised as SIN tends to pool resources. I don’t mind they took away the echoing reprimand button at all, it’s just superchanged points are counter-intuitive to normal sin play.
Now I hear that sub got some heavy handed nerfs. I strayed away from it long ago since it was always hard for blizzard to balance. Either it was bad or great single target and AoE was typically D tier at best. I hear outlaw has it’s issues too and heavily relies upon stealth for damage in PvP.
With all the bugs and other abilities preventing stealth, stealth needs to be redesigned and you can no longer base damage around stealth. If Blizzard keeps insisting that it’s damage profile be heavily based upon stealth, it just can’t function effectively any longer. Rogue also doesn’t really have a mobility advantage any longer. Since MoP and the addition of monk every spec has gotten more and more and more mobile which was one of rogues big strengths outside of stealth.
Something else I don’t get. Why did they even change rogue?
Why did they change the original style of talent tree?
I liked how it used to be where you could put points into whatever you wanted as long as you put points in the right places up the tree.
Seems like a lot of breaking something that wasn’t broken.
The only think I can think of is they changed stuff to encourage you to buy expansions. But I think people would have bought the expansions anyway, so who knows.
The reason I stopped playing back in the day was because the game was too PVE focused, too instanced based. But the way the characters played I thought was great, no need to change it. Just got bored doing BGs and arenas.
I am not enjoying Assass rogue atm, however my play style was more the sneaky rogue. Capping flags if someone was silly enough to stand near them etc. That was taken away due to the reduction of sap. I don’t feel I have such an impact on a game anymore. It’s just boring overall.
I’m levelling a rogue right now, and I’m at 77 with an ilevel of 498. I feel like I have paper daggers against most classes, but I am coming up against toons with last season’s PVP gear on and once I’m exposed it’s basically game over.
It should have been useable when you blind a target. That would of made a lot more sense for a secondary use. But you have a limited number of vanishes in a fight, so at it was it’s a terrible skill. Only good in short PvP fights, that’s why they should of must made it a PvP talent only.
Well in PVP you can do a lot more restealths for Crackshot windows. Double grapple. and low CD Sprint along with 2 X Vanishes and CDR on Vanish means that Crackshot builds are more viable in PVP than PVE.
What about PvE? Leveling an outlaw rouge now to take advantage of the exp bonus. Nothin serious maybe just max level and dome some LFR… I don’t see any rouges in group content though.
ironically that’s my biggest complaint with rogue now. if vanish actually gets me out of whatever pvp fight i’m in even 20% of the time i’d be shocked. every time i play i think… if vanish doesn’t vanish what is the point of the class?
