Are race-changes too expensive, or are mechagnomes just too ugly?

I used to be 100% convinced that aesthetics were mostly secondary to performance, but the mechagnomes and vulpera have completely changed my mind to the point that I’m a bit dizzy.

Am I crazy? Does racial performance matter or are Mechagnomes just so ugly that almost nobody is willing to play them in spite of their ridiculously powerful racial abilities?

Most racials are only relevant to pushing competitive content at the highest levels.

Most players aren’t doing that sort of content, so there’s no pressure to min/max.

Dungeons are a core feature of the game. If a dungeon is something you don’t want to do, why are you playing?

Limit said that they were considering a mass change to mechagnome, but their racials were nerfed enough before release that they “breathed a sigh of relief”.

I’d wager a lot of players wanted a different type of mechagnomes than what was given. I know I did.

Racials only matter to the small percentage playing end game high end content. What people get now is just a gnome with some robotic parts… not something that will appeal to the majority unlike Vulpera who follow the fox-people trend of other games which lots tend to like.

…and it is annoying that the Vulpera don’t require any dungeons. I won’t lie.

I accidentally ran the dungeon in the Vale near siege of orgrimmar the first time on a farming run.

Didn’t realize I wasn’t where I wanted to be until the end.

Run Mechagon on heroic mode, it is so easy it is almost sad.
