At least I’m posting on a classic character. Where’s yours?
Because in world PvP the loser gets nothing and has no chance. Even the most elitist PvE players with raid gear in BGs don’t screw over the losers as much, because they still get honor, no repair bills and can always just leave the BG to continue playing the game rather than being forced to quit because they are being camped.
These two things aren’t even remotely comparable.
For the same reason that 2 wheeled bicycles are bad for children who can not ride bikes.
You seriously think a raid gear equipped guild camping a BG GY is giving good honor to the other team? Amateur.
They’re not THAT bad. I personally find that I’m getting by just fine. There’s a time and place for it, and MOST players know that. Some however do not. I do recall last week I was ganked by the SAME 3 players two nights in a row. I was 2 levels higher the second time, and they were the exact same. I think that’s probably the worst experience I’ve had and really it’s only a one time thing thus far.
You get what you sign up for that’s for sure. If you choose a pvp server, you’re going to have to expect the occasional encounter with the group of players that have nothing better to do.
I will say this, personally I don’t see the reason behind it. The honor system isn’t even up yet. So while I don’t mind ganks… CHAIN ganking or graveyard camping is just kinda odd to me at this point. It’s inefficient.
That’s just my 0.02.
Imagine if we all just ignore posts from Retail characters.
I’m of the same mind. I certainly didn’t join a PVP server to gank people, camp graveyards, and grief. I joined it for the awesome world PVP.
There is a difference between some honor and no honor. Do you deny that? There is also a difference between no durability damage and lots of durability damage, and between the ability to quit the BG and not being able to ‘quit’ being ganked.
Well it wouldn’t be a bad idea as a good portion of them are here just because classic is a threat to them I guess. Come here to stir up trouble.
Exactly. I don’t mind it. The world pvp is fun and gives you a break from leveling. The GY camping though is SO irrational at this point in the release.
It is mostly due to PvE players not being able to handle getting ganked, so they blame getting killed on other players being immature. In reality it is just them being insecure about their choice to roll on a pve server and they don’t want to fully admit that the players on pvp servers are typically more dedicated than them. Anyone who rolls on a pvp server is going to get ganked and/or camped, it is just a matter of time.
There is really nothing wrong with being on either a pvp server or pve server, unfortunately in the end there are immature players on both server types.
As for my own server I am on grob and I haven’t seen much toxicity myself. I think the only place where I see toxicity is in trade chat and other chat windows, witch is really nothing new considering that trade chat has always been a popular place for trolls to strut their stuff, regardless of server type. At the end of the day you can just turn off trade chat should you feel the need.
It sure seems like that, a lot of the time.
Sure there is a difference but if you can’t hang with it just play PVE. That said, plenty of PVP players disagree that its a big issue.
Well, that’s true.
But I think it’s mostly because there are a hell of a lot of people who roll on PvP servers with the impression that this means they will occasionally meet a player from the opposing faction who wants to have an “honoroble duel” where they both agree to fight, bow to each other and then spar a little. Whereas in reality, nobody is angling for these perfectly “fair” fights and you can be ganked at any time from any direction by any number of people of any class combination.
Good to hear those people are finding their way back to the PvE realms.
I’m on your server and that’s my experience too.
We started on horde PVP - Whitemane and Bigglesworth. None of us could stand it. Some left the game for good.
I decided to roll on alliance RPPVP server and give it one last shot and I can’t believe the difference.
I think it’s an alliance / horde thing. I have a warlock to level 28 now on Grobbulus and it is such a breath of fresh air. Literally feels like a different game in terms of social experience.
Welcome to Grob. Proof positive that PVP servers aren’t all bad.
PvE servers = Pussy vs Enviroment.
Perhaps not a big issue for some, but it is for others, and it also has zero real benefits. So that’s why I am saying that PvP servers are bad.
PvP servers are more about ganking and bullying.
Real PvP happens in Battlegrounds and consentually with players who toggle on PvP mode willingly for more fair combat.
