I just bought 2 gladiator pieces from the vendor, both with vers of course. The Monk 2pc makes only the second part of Essence Font (dot) increase by a whole 5% and last a couple sec longer.
When I created the tier I lost the vers on both and my essence font direct healing went down so much, along with all my other heals…I lost 4-5% vers which is kind of big in pvp.
Don’t have the 4pc to test yet but it seems very situational to stand still in a rune in pvp.
I guess it depends on the class/spec, whatever their respective set bonus does for them.
Is the Mistweaver tier just bad?
Can the vault give you tier in the pvp row with vers, or does all tier always default to set secondary states?
Tier pieces give a variety of stats because they’re shared by multiple specs. Pretty sure that’s always been the case. Most people who care about min-maxing are saving a chest/helm slot for a 291 legendary because those give a ton of the exact secondaries (and main stat) you want.
Poorly planned since this is the 1st time in 18 years they’ve tried something like this?
Turning pvp items into pve items that downgrade all your healing for a set bonus that does almost next to nothing.
Now with the recent changes, from what I read, is that pvp ilvl will always be slightly higher in pvp now. To do that with tier you have to convert your pvp item just so it retains its ilvl power in pvp.
They are. I miss pvp set bonuses that focused more on utility and pvp aspects of the game.
Assassination rogues seem to be the biggest burst hitters so far.
Basically this, kind of, but just arguing semantics.
Having certain dps tier (that can be converted to pvp scaling items) that adds insane burst is nuts.
Idk, maybe other healer sets are much better than MW’s tier.
Some tier set bonuses are just bad for PvP to a mechanical level. Some are even discouraged from being used due to how they function.
Another example I can give you is the Frost Mage tier set. Although the spec is currently very strong in PvP, due to the set being based on a random proc chance and capable of missing the target entirely, a lot of people just ignore it and go for optimized stats instead.
The issue is that not every class loses the same amount of vers from their tier and a lot of classes gain significant damage and healing from the 4 set in exchange for loss stats while mw loses stats for a significantly weaker set. OP is asking if for mw specifically it’s worth losing stats for a tier set you don’t use the ability for in pvp. Not to mention that prior to this week a lot of people still had lfr (239?) tier pieces on while their pvp gear would have been up to 285. Then there’s also class specific legendary slot conflicts that aren’t equal for all classes either.
Shaman: head, legs, gloves with vers
Paladin: head, shoulders with vers
Warlock: shoulder, legs with vers
Monk: shoulder, chest, legs with vers
Head, chest and legs give more stats than shoulders and gloves, and pieces have a high and a low value (vers on shaman legs is high while vers on warlock legs is low)
Monk isnt bad with 3/5 pieces having vers, but their set bonus is significantly less impactful than the other listed above
