So I started playing my new Paladin for the first time this weekend with my wife. She walked towards that tower at the edge of Westfall. You know the one. The one with all of the Elites. We were swarmed. I suddenly found myself surrounded by FIVE Elites, and I actually managed to WIN the battle. Never went below 50% health. I was baffled. Still am. I could have never won that battle on this character, or for that matter, and other character I have. Was it a fluke? Or is this really a thing for Paladins?
Always looking for more direction and advice, so thank you!
itâs true that iâm fully decked out in heirlooms with a 55% xp increase. But Iâve also seen pallies in my party take on an instance boss solo after everyone else was dead. Thatâs what inspired me to start a Paladin to begin with. Utility and survivability.
having bubbles, shields and self-heals including a 100% and the ability to stagger them so youâre never too far off a CD if the damage isnât obscene.
Elites are no longer elite. They just have the name and icon around their name.
An elite of old would have eaten you up.
Difference between a silver and gold one as well. I honestly think that the gaming industry as a whole has forgot what âeliteâ truly means. A true elite is difficult, if not impossible to kill. Blizzard ruined it. I could solo a flight master with my under geared DH in under 15 seconds last expac. I would use dps spec, open up with fel barrage, then do my aoe and down it.
it never used to be that easy. I could solo faction leaders last expac and could solo mythics on my warrior. So the game has become easy mode. I dont like it much at all.
yes and no, the elder crocs in Stranglethorn were elites but easily to kill back in BC and wrath. Gave great XP too when they were an âorangeâ level (3-4 levels higher). Something like a drake was really difficult. Devilsaurs were brutal.
Ya pallies are a bit OP. In pvp i usally avoid engaging 1 on 1 with them. Unless i know they already bubbled. I hate to take away a favorite for pally lovers, but that bubble needs a weakness. Should be able to at least spellsteal it, purge, or something like that.
They can be annoying, but manageable. What I do is sap and burn trinket, poke (but no big offensive stuff) and blind, and vanish. Then pray for bubble, if he panics
and does bubble well my vanish made my abilities come back, I go to town, if he doesnât, then I curl into fetal position and cry.
yes, keep the plate heirlooms in every slot, you get a str bonus for using proper armour type at level 50 iirc. Goes for other classes too, like leather for rogues, mail for hunters etc.
hope they donât wait for you to finish poking them, blind you with blinding light, heal to full and have everything ready to go with your vanish on CD
