Are Null Stones supposed to be more plentiful?

Based on the number of recipes that need a Null Stone, and what those recipes are… just leaves me scratching my head. For example, Blacksmiths can make “Ironclaw Razorstone”. It sharpens a Mining, Herbalism, or Skinning tool to increase finesse by 45 for two hours. You need a Null Stone to make one. Like… who the hell is going to spend 3000 gold for this??

Someone will for sure, nulstone was 6000g few weeks ago

They are a rare reagent from mining. You can spec your miner into receiving the whole null stone, though (instead of imperfect ones).

As more gatherers fill the wheels in there mining specs, there will be an increase of null stones available. Wish I could say the same with tinderboxes, but one step at a time.

This is so utterly stupid - a fairly common trait in Blizz design decisions especially these days - when the price of a crafting mat - Null Stone - is 5 TIMES the cost of the created item. I was thinking of focusing a BS on making whetstones but what’s the point? How does anyone even bother making them? “Let me throw my gold at making one-time use items when I can spend 4 TIMES less for the item itself! Genius!!”

You just described one of my reliable ways to make gold this expansion. I sell raw mats and then purchase the items I need with the gold I made off those sales. It’s even better when I can spend concentration to make rank 3 flasks and enchants with cheap materials, sell them for a nice profit and then buy the rank 2 version for myself for considerably less.

The best part? My raid performance isn’t really hurting by using rank 2 instead of rank 3 items. Win/win in my book.

I was always short of null stones. I do a lot of gathering and now have every ore maxed to give a complete null stone as well as perception on my mining tool… I now have a large number of null stones in my bank (as in >50).

A lot of rare profession tools and accessories require five null stones. The supply of null stones should be going up and the demand slowing down. Hopefully that gets reflected in the price. At the moment, putting them on the whetstone craft is just silly - but hopefully later in the expansion it might be useful.

They will become more available when Miners can invest into the full Bismuth, Aqirite, and Ironclaw specs because the end cap nodes seem to give full Null Stones instead of Imperfect ones. For now it’s more of a high demand situation.
