The biggest day 1 server in the US died a few months ago.

With Blizzard’s awful server management that’s EXACTLY what I expect.

Basically you have a choice. Either:

1. can’t play now because of queues

2. can’t play later because the free xfer servers are dead again.

Maybe Blizz should do some basic population management rather than letting things get to this point… and making dumb excuses about “not having the tech” even though they literally already implemented the tech.

That’s probably true. Difference between then and now is that there are no new players joining the game. Everybody levels together. So after the initial leveling wave, it’s going to be increasingly harder to find groups.
