All of this is subjective, so no one can answer that for you. I’ve found it best to try out classes myself before I decide.
Speaking as someone who quite enjoys melee healing, monks are quite fun. I find their animations to be nice in a wispy sort of way which is different from paladins. That said I don’t tank in WoW and I’m not actually a big fan of windwalker, so there ya go.
Lore is a big ol’ question mark though as aside from interesting characters who happen to be monks I’m not particularly well versed in their actual lore.

I like the idea of them but Ive ways deleted them shortly after making them as they come off as too silly/goofy to me.
I’m also not a fan of how closely tied the class is to pandaren.

Mistweaver is a melee healer now.
Monks will never be cool.
Okay, Brewmaster is kind of cool.
Monk’s mistweaver spec has a build that prioritizes being in melee range, attacking enemies to do healing to the party that way. It has over time became the primary way to heal on a monk, though you can still spec into castweaving and do that as well.
Personally I prefer fistweaving in M+, but castweaving in raids.

Use Jadefire Stomp and then your melee moves do healing based on the damage being done.
Think like disc, but with significantly lower ramp up time.
I think so. I like the Pandaren though. Monk abilities are all tied very closely to Pandaren culture and aesthetic, so to me, it feels weird to play any monk but a Pandaren unless I create a character that is specifically a pandaboo.

I love monk. They are my favorite class in the game. Their most iconic/visually appealing attacks are either Fists of Fury or Flying Dragon Kick…at least for WW.
If the playstyle is appealing is debatable. WW is essentially like playing Paladin with a penalty for pushing abilities more than once.

Celestials regardless of spec look incredible. Lore is a bit mid though in my opinion.
