Are Mechagon Drops Supposed To Be This Bad?

So now that Mechagon is current content and can drop items in your weekly cache I’ve started to notice just how weak a few of the drops from there are. First of all, the caster staff [Neural Synapse Enhancer] is generally considered a horrible weapon due to the fact that it actually has LESS overall Intellect on it AND comes with a downside (damage to yourself). This is really only negated for those who can line the cooldown up with a cooldown they have but outside that window the player is much weaker.

Then there’s the trinket [Modular Platinum Plating] which provides a very small amount of armor for 30 seconds. This also comes with the downside of stacks being removed if you’re dealt more than 10% of your HP so the trinket can sometimes be almost useless in fights. Considering this is a TANK trinket you’d think being dealt more than 10% of your HP is pretty easy and hence makes this trinket overall terrible.

Ultimately I can see people getting pretty upset when these items start dropping (or have already dropped) in their weekly cache. Sure they might be ilevel upgrades but in many cases their weak stats might not be enough to justify using them. Is it intended to have items in the game that can be horrible or does Blizzard plan on buffing them at some point?

What if I told you…

Everything made by Gnomes is bad?

What about the brew festival goggles?

ESPECIALLY the Brewfest goggles!

Mechagon’s rings are usually pretty good though.

(Statement): Unit Exacitor is disappointed; he was hoping for a thread complaining about the ABYSMAL drop rates for the Vinyl: Triumph of Gnomeregan, and the Blueprint: Emergency Rocket Chicken.
