so what I’m asking is… if mecha gnomes are people or robots? are they advanced AI piloting a half fleshy exterior? or just gnomes with a few modifications?
Pre transitioning into a mecha gnome… there is a gnome… is that gnome still the same gnome after mechafication?
maybe it’s a "I think therefore I am " but I’m unsure of the exact specifics so I’m throwing this question to you guys.
Yes ![]()
Thnx fam dude you are the best <3
have you not played through mechagon…they are gnomes with modifications.
My understanding is that they’ve been able to upgrade parts of their body, but they never change their brain, so yes, I believe they are conscious.
They simply adhere to the idea of “Transgnomanism.” They believe that technology can enhance anything, including their bodies, so they keep adding more and more cybernetics but they also don’t want to overdo it and become more robots than gnomes, like King Mechagon did.
Yes, they don’t mechanize their brain.
And the ones who did have their brains mechanized (i.e. King Mechagon) gone insane and deemed malfunctioning robots and need to be eliminated. I assume this is due to their emotions or personality changing and becoming cold and unempathetic (can’t mechanize those).
Proof of this is how Prince Erazmin viewed his father after this process, how he did not recognize King Mechagon as his father anymore, instead viewed him as a malfunctioning machine that needed to be terminated.
Another instance of mechanizing brain = bad is in the mechagon comic, where Kervo the explorer went from being a explorer full of emotion and guts, to being a mindless drone after his brain was mechanized:
Its speculated by some that King Mechagon wasn’t evil until he mechanized himself too much. To the OP. Its very possible that mechagnomes which are far too mechanized aren’t conscious. Maybe king mechagon basically killed himself when he tried mechanizing his brain.
I recommend Eveready.
Works for bunnies.
thats the thing tho man…
what if its advanced ai?? like its a programed personality?
wild. i wonder how they connect the wires tho.
just like ontop of there lobes or brainstem?
it isn’t speculated, it’s confirmed by his own son, Prince Erazmin… how he doesn’t even consider King Mechagon as his father anymore since fully mechanizing (drastic personality shift/lack of empathy, becoming a cold emotional-less machine), and as a result he only views his father now as a malfunctioning machine that needs to be terminated.
Their whole story was about keeping their heart/soul intact over cold machinery.
Their logic being amplified might make them seem cold but they’re still conscious and much the same gnome before and after.
They are the Gnome Borg.
bruh this is a world where a bored mage can animate a broom and give it an existential crisis when it realizes its only purpose in life is to sweep
don’t think about it too much
Does this gnome have a soul?
